I was wondering if there was any interest in making a Hammock wikia. I am more than willing to add the information to it, if you guys help make some of the basic guide. Mostly just compile them from the numerous threads we repeatedly see posted in the various sections. There could be a link to it stickied on the top of the page and more people can add to it, and make adjustments as information is updated and changed and things.

Jeffs Site is much the same and is the second or third the comes up when you type in hammock. I was thinking it might be nice for others to possibly add there information. Such as the new tensigrity stand, the little talked about karo step quilt, bridge information. links to shugs videos. ETC...

It also provides another venue for people to learn more about Hammocks and not harming the trees when they hang them and things. I alreayd saved the name and got a small start so if you all think it is a good idea lets talk!

I'd be willing to help compile info on a wiki too. I'd make the suggestion of using wikkii.com instead of wikia though. Not only does it use the same wiki markup as wikipedia (IMO it is much easier) and it allows for more customizations.

A wiki is a good idea, but reposting all the info to another site doesn't make sense. The mods have talked about adding a wiki here before, and may revisit that idea soon.

i agree with and would love to see the information compiled in a wiki ... while the forum is fun, it takes a LOT of digging to really get all the info

i keep coming back to this concept ... it's so hard to find information ... i do thoroughly enjoy reading every one's threads ... but sometimes when i just want to find out the best way to do something, i have to wade thru tons and tons of reading and even then i'm not sure if i've found the best way

a wiki would really help put the tried and true TESTED and APPROVED methodology in one easy to find place

i'd be willing to host/manage the wiki if that helps at all?
