I got this in the mail on Monday and just got to test it out a little this afternoon. It is 30 F her in NC. I spent about an hour after work just hanging and enjoying the wonderful down goodness.

In this picture I have my blackbird, winter incubator, down pillow from Arrowhead, and for top insulation I am using my 0 degree Phantom Mountain Hardware sleeping bag. Can't wait to try this combo out as the temps drop lower over the next few day.

It is soooooo comfy and warm. I love this thing. If you are thinking about getting one pull the trigger and do it. It is really nice.

Hey flair4040. Is that a little line level on your ridgeline? Is it helpful to get your BB positioned properly?

Iwinter incubator,
http://yfrog.com/nfimg201012081702591j

Wow, that incubator hugs very tight against the bottom of the hammock.
Were you able to get it that close with the stock attachments?

thanks for the excellent report.

piece of gear. I hung out two nights ago with temps in the single digits. I would up having to bail, (at 3:00 AM) not because I was the least bit cold, but due to a severe headache that just made being out miserable.

The temp at that time was roughly 7-8 degrees. I was completely unaware of the cold thanks to my Winter Incubator and Burrow combo.

Just amazing stuff. Words fail.

not to answer for someone else, but the stock suspension length of my winter incubator hugs my wbbb very well.
i did tie a knot in the suspension, shortening it about 4 inches. time will tell......

That hang is all stock. I just hung it from the gathered ends of the blackbird. I just came in from 19f and still never felt cold. Loving this UQ.

spent the night in my winter incubator-
www.wunderground said it got down to 4* at wildcat hollow.

was warm when i got in at 9pm.
woke up around 3 am with a chill in my thighs up through my torso.
not shivering cold, but enough to grab my gg torso pad.

i still need to tweak the uq suspension. probably could be tighter, even
with some shockcord pulling it up over the ridgeline.

another excuse to tweak gear...

Nice quilt!

I too am using an Incubator with a Blackbird. Have you noticed any cold spots developing if you lie too far off axis? I have noticed them on my left shoulder and right foot if I lie on too strong a diagonal, but it could easily be blamed on improper attachment of the uq. I'm completely new to underquilts and the Blackbird! :D
