Yesterday ( CORRECTION: TWO DAYS AGO )I received a Switchback Light Hiker.. It is the shortest hammock I own and I am enjoying everything about it. I am 6 foot 1 and weigh 220 pounds and I fit right in. It is not as long as the original Switchback hammock but is still as wide. I set up and used my Speer Pee Pod with it and it worked fantastic. The temperatures dropped down to 12 degrees and I stayed warm inside the Pea Pod with some extra layers of insultex insulation. I found that the Switchback Light Hiker to be comfortable for such a short hammock.

That's a great result! Where did you put the insultex?

+1 for pics!

TTT's website is a bit niggardly with details...how long/wide is the light hiker?

I believed it is about nine and a half feet long and 4 feet wide. It is short and small compared to my other hammocks but it is well designed. It is also the least heavy of all my netted hammocks.

It's the same width as the original Switchback. Last weekend, a 6'3" fellow got in my Light Hiker and said it was a great fit!

I like longer hammocks but I purchased this one to hang between less spaced apart trees in the wooded overgrown areas in the Catskills. I was able to fit it inside my pea pod and use a smaller sized tarp with it.
