View Full Version : Grip Clips
Just got my set in the mail....how are you guys keeping the two parts together when not in use? I'm using a ziplock bag for now but I just thought I'd ask what others are doing. Thanks

Yeah. On my wb big mjamba. No problems I see. I use the balloon gasket.

+1 on balloon gasket on Spinn.
+1 on leaving them right there on the hammock to store them.
I have also used them on Sil with great results also.

What is the balloon gasket?
What is the balloon gasket?
Spinn and also silnylon are too slippery for the gripclips to hold without sliding to a new location, so use an uninflated balloon as another layer of "fabric" to provide friction.
Balloon gasket = brilliant. I've never used clips like that and always wondered how you could prevent slippage on something like sil. I may just use them anyway as to not create any potential wear and tear on the tarp. Thanks for the explanation WV.

I keep them all strung on a loop of Paracord - the bases through the center, and the strung clips through the cordage loops.
I had a bag of about 20 of them for the NY/NE Hang in Vermont, and we utilized them for guyout points on the two extra space blankets/tarps that I carried in to creat a shelter over the picnic table. They worked GREAT, and I removed them as we took the set-up down. For the weight, and the utility, they can't be beat! :D
