Played with the dimensions and cut of the Ogee.
This is a 12 footer in 1.1 grey sil.

Standard diamond set up with the doors pulled back. Two stakes needed. The long point of the triangle is 6' to the ridgeline.
18286

Turned so the sides of the triangles become the ridgline, 116" ridge in this configuration. This new cut now allows the doors to close when set up in tent mode. The original version does not fit over a standard 100"+ ridgeline hammock.
18287

Other side.
18288

Door pulled open and a view inside. Side pullout used and allows for more interior space.
18289

16.8 oz. in the stuff sack.
I'll proto up an 11' footer and see how the new dimensions/cuts work out, but I'm pretty confident they will.

Thanks Mac and Canoebie for the kind words.:boggle::boggle:

Would like to see more picts in the winter mode. I'm in the market for a winter tarp. Needs doors and lots of room inside. What about pullouts for winter mode since you usually drop the side angle for more wind protection?

I can see the potential for using this style tarp for concealment very easily. Different colored panels to break up the outline. Very nice work, Gargoyle!

Sorry about the crunchy snow, shaky camera work and sniffles.
9* out there and my camera said "burr, dummy! let's go back inside."
I'll shoot some pics to fill in the end....

Thank you all for the compliments!!:boggle:

Ogee and mega Ogee lend themselves well to ground sleepers.
It may be good tarp for those folks who need the option of a tarptent?
Left or right hand entry. Stake it down tight, pull in the extra parts.

18385
Staked up on a stick to alow for ventilation. One side pulled out, with room for two.

And because someone will ask to see a sexy model.:rolleyes:;)

Thanks for the video. It helps explain the setup option a little more. I think I might need to set one up and play with the different configurations before I truly understand how versatile it really is.

Thought I'd chime in to say that the Ogee design has become my go-to tarp.
I made mine, since I like to make stuff and I used the original Ogee dimensions. This new version of the Ogee with more side coverage promises to be even better.

I really do encourage anyone that is in the market for a versatile tarp to get an Ogee from Gargoyle. Folks that I trust say that he produces top quality stuff, and the design is pure genius.

BTW, don't PM me asking to make one for you. I won't.
I'll make little stuff like peak bags, Jerry Chairs, and ridgeline organizers.
Heck, I'll even make IX UQs and TQs.
But I'd be a fool to try to compete with folks like Gargoyle who produce innovative, well made gear at fair prices.
Same goes many of the other vendors you'll find on HF (for example, I won't make a WBBB clone for you either):D
