Polypropylene Webbing or Nylon what is the difference? i found a site that sells webbing with d-rings already sewn in or just loop at end. want to set up tarp with them.

From what I've read, nylon stretches way too much, not a good idea for hanging.

Nylon = Bad. Stretchy

Polypropylene (Polypro) = Good. This is what Ed Speer sells.

Polyester = The best. Low stretch, high breaking strength, and very abrasion resistant.

Webbing is kinda overkill for hanging a tarp. Just use some lightweight, small diameter line. There are several thread here that go into detail about the different types of webbing. Just do a search

Here's the best Strapworks deal www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?p=40345#post40345

My favorite webbing is the OWF woodland camo polyester webbing. Same weight as the Speer polypro with less stretch. 2000lb. breaking strength.

If you get this webbing, pick yourself up some 100% polyester Guttermans thread. It's cheap. Sew loops on the ends.
