I'm looking for a lightweight buckle for web suspension. I really like the ones that come on the Black Birds. What are these made of and where can you get them? It would be nice to have several around for different things. I thought I would ask before I contacted a local stamping company.
Thanks! :D

I just bought some buckles from AHE (Arrowhead Equipment) and they worked out very well. I had the old style triangle rings that used to be on the BB. Since these have a kinda flat edge, it pinches on the strapping very well. I did not have to back up buckles with a slippery stopper half hitch. I would check those out. Really happy with them.

They don't slip with 1" polyester webbing (even the light stuff that AHE sells) and they are quite light. I also do not see how they can fail in any way.

I have the AHE CB's as well as the ones on my BB suspension and I can tell no difference in weight or material. Appears to aluminum. You can get just the triangle plates or a set of plates with long or standard length amsteel loops from AHE.

Here (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29340) is the thread I recently started on this very topic. It is full of helpful links and information. Good luck :)

I just purchase the 1" cinch buckle from 1rope (http://www.onrope1.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=118&parent=4) and I love it. It's metal so it's heavier, but it is so much easier to adjust.
