I think you may want to reverse your thinking lab72. You set your ridgeline to get the amount of sag not the other way around. Typically, folks use a formula like this: take the total length of your hammock (before you hang it) and set a ridgeline of 83% of the length. Make minor adjustments to get the perfect amount of sag for you. This is a relative formula which changes person to person. Find that sweet spot for yourself and voila, you have a ridgeline. Hope that helps.

Paracord is okay but may want to consider something called Zing-it or Lash-it. Lighter and won't stretch like para does. Now, we have to see pics or this entire thread... never happened. :D

How do you support you net now on the ridgeline.
When I tried a ridge line on a DD Frontline there was far too much sag in the net. I also found that the design of the hammock didn't suit a ridge line, ie. the hammock seems a bit shortonce a ridge line was used.

I have found out that in my case (255 lbs. / 6 ft.) the way to go with DD Traveler, is taut, if not extra taut.

Of course one could join Weight Watchers :scared:

Great looking, lab72! But I kind of have the same question as Countryman. You say you move the ridgeline, but where? To get the mozzi net nice and roomy, I guess you have moved the ridgeline inside the mozzi net, right?

I'm fibbling with this myself to get a nice hand the comming weekend, but last nights attempts didn't get me all the way. I have an idea of running the ridgeline inside the net, and still be able to raise the net high enough, but don't know how to attach the ends of the ridgeline to the ends of the hammock... Have you made a small hole in the gathered end?

I love your hang spot! I'm jealous, and my hang spot is two coconut palms on a tropical island.

Hi Lab72,
Looks like a great setup, But what happens to your ridge line when you need your bug net in place??
