Okay, the total order is for 370 badges at $0.47 each. That breaks down to the following cost (CONUS):

International shipping Rate*: Please adjust your payment
$11.95 (Mexico/Canada), $13.95 (all other countries)

Please have payment in by May 12

Payment instructions.

After you have figured your orders total, send it to ebay_admin(at) wlem (dot) us via paypal. In the comments box, please include your order information; Qty Ordered AND YOUR HF MONIKER. Very important I know whos paid and whos who and without your HF name, I wont know whos who paying for whos order. (lol) Once all monies are in, I will place the order. I was told it will take Moritz Embroidery about 3 weeks to produce the order and then ship. It will probably take another week to get to me and then another week to distribute. So please be patient!!! If you have ANY questions about your order or making payment, please contact me prior to making the payment so we get it right the first time.

At this point, if you want to back out its up to you to find someone to take your share. So if you're sitting on the sidelines banging your head that you missed out, post your interest.

I prefer payment be made using the "goods and services" option. This allows me to print postage here at home. Choosing the "gift" option keeps paypal from giving me your address. The fees paypal takes from a payment for "goods and services" has been factored into the price. If you choose the "gift" option, you will simply be giving me the 2.9% and then I have to buy postage at the post office. A bit more time consuming.

[moderator's note: Using "gift" or "personal" options when purchasing goods and services is specifically not allowed in the HF terms of service as well as PayPal's own terms of service. PayPal's terms of service states that "if you are selling goods or services, you may not ask the buyer to send you a Personal Payment for the purchase. If you do so, PayPal may remove your ability to accept Personal Payments". Purchases made with the "Personal Payment" option are also not eligible for PayPal's buyer protections ("Purchase Protections")].

Thank you.

You know I am 50 year old and received my Eagle Scout when I was a Senior in High School. I would of loved to receive a hammock merit badge back in the day. I still have my old uniform shirt and merit badges. One of my proudest accomplishments. Some of the most rewarding experiences were with the Boy Scouts.

I would have swore I put in to buy 10 merit badges. But I just checked and don't see it anywhere. So if there is room for ten more, let me know. It looks like I am out in the cold at this time.

Okay Folks, I need to draw the line and no more orders will be accepted after this post. If you want some after the initial sell I believe there may be some on PIF and spares.

The costs have been set, and will not change. Adding additional buyers means about $.04 - $.05 overage in some orders. Any left over change (less than $1.00 in total) will be donated to BSA Troop 752. [Verified by AngrySparrow]

Please forward payment as per the first post. As soon as all payment is received the sooner we can get these ordered. Thank you. :D

If any body ends up with 1 extra I'd like to buy it.
It would motivate me to find my sash and add it pushing
my total to 60. I had 59 when I made Eagle and that was
during the Nixon administration HA!
Is there a Merit Badge book too to accompany the badge?

Update: 5/13
Summary: Badges are ordered and now we wait

The Good news:

Badges have been ordered with the vendor.
I have ordered extra for those who want them, and will post them when available for a minimal cost ($1.50 including shipping). (See the bad news)
There was a minor change to the badge. The background changed from from grey to white

The Bad News:

Due to a miscommunication, I missed the fact that the quote was not for a 100% embroidered patch. If we are going through this much trouble for it, I want them to be nice. So stepped up for the better patch. (Insert mumble grumble here)
Due to the price change the cost breakdown changed as well. it was economical enough to order $500 patches. This will allow some additional available for those who wanted a single patch. (See The Good News above)
My mistake, therefore I will cover the difference and perhaps make some of it back through selling the single patches. Your cost will not change!
Sorry for the confusion

Order detail:
Total Patch Size: 38mm
Border Size: 3.175 mm

Pantone Colors:
Border: PMS 7495 (Green)
Background: PMS 11-0601 TCX (Snow White)
Design: PMS 30 (Black PC)

Great! A lot of these should have landed yesterday. I hope everyone enjoys them with the spirit they were intended, and uses them as a way to evangelize yet another way to enjoy the great outdoors.

Our troop has had a lot of neat hammock ideas coming out of this project. Kids (and adults) are really excited to figure out how to best setup and enjoy hammocking. And all for a little badge.

Could you post some pics of the "best ideas" results? Maybe we could learn something from it as well. :)

Showed up yesterday and I gave my 2st one out last night at an OA meeting to the other leader in our troop who is a hammock camper.
My son wanted one, and I showed him the list of requirements and told him he had to do them all, just like a regular merit badge.

Mine arrived yesterday and they look great! My son and daughter in the troop and crew want to know when they can get theirs. I told them we could work on the requirements at summer camp. Garrick got out his merit badge sash and showed me where he wants to put it.

One of the crew members has a hammock, but is just using it as a lounger on trips right now. We're working to teach him how he can actually use it instead of a tent. Interest is sure to pick up.

Thanks,

-Mike

Just wanted to say thank you!

I have been handing mine out to scouts and scouters who have finally climbed the mountain and learned from the old guy in the burlap hammock at the top that swinging between trees is the way to go.
