Pole Mod for Ultra

OK, I'm about to order a CF pole for my Ultra. From the Fibraplex website for a single 104" pole on the calculator it's suggesting I order:

1-Long Fibrapole 292: no ferrule(15-31.5")
3-Long Fibrapole 292: CF ferrule(15-31.5")
2-Aluminum Tips-STRAIGHT
5'-1/8 Shock Cord per foot (free on pole sets)

My question is do I need the aluminum tips and do I actually need to order the shock cord? It states the shock cord is free with pole sets but when entering it, it charges me .19 foot.

I know I can wait and call them tomorrow, I'm just wondering what others have done.

I use the tips with mine. I think it is less sharp than the exposed rim of the pole. You are really going to love this mod. Modded my superfly with the pole and will never go back.

Yes, That makes sense. And I'd have to change length if I didn't buy the tips because they are included in the overall length by the calculator.

I've also decided to go with the 3/32 shock cord now and with shipping & TN tax it's coming to $45.36 :eek:
