I did a search but didn't see this anywhere.
This seems like a good way to rig your tarp.
I'm not sure I understand the ridgeline... is he putting the tarp OVER or UNDER the ridgeline?

Do the tarps (like the Speers Winter Tarp) come with those ties on the ridgeline?

Anyway... comments? I'm new at this and looking for the best way to put up my tarp without ruining it.

For almost all of the hammock-friendly tarps, you don't need a seperate cord ridgeline. They have a seam along the ridgeline that is very strong, so you only have to tie cords to the tie outs on either end of that ridge seam.

To get those ridge cords taut, you can use any number of adjustable knot methods. I prefer to use a set of [URL="http://www.rei.com/product/756442?vcat=REI_SEARCH"]small figure-9's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjMmla9DSzo&feature=related) for the purpose. They are handy, light, cheap, and readily available (REI, Home Depot, etc)
