View Full Version : Is it wrong, this Emotional Rollercoaster
I am on an emotional rollercoaster.
I ordered a switchback a little while ago and meanwhile my birthday is coming up. Every time a package shows up, my heart jumps that it is my new switchback hammock. I am so let down when I discover it is homemade jams and jellies, assorted toys, and gift cards. Even motorcycle related gifts are breaking my heart. I feel that the only gift other than the hammock that would cheer me up is a donation to a local no-kill shelter. (Please give!! :thumbup1: )
I feel so guilty, these are good gifts bought and sent with love and hard work. Is this wrong??
If loving gear is wrong.......
I just got my custom made HG UQ. I have been checking for packages for a month now.
My main backpack gear is in a plastic container right beside my bed, ready to go. I don't let it far out of my sight. :-) Especially the cuben tarp and pack I waited two months for.

Such a great feeling waiting for gear. All things should feel so good.

loving your gear is OK but if your family is attacked and they hold something for ransom they will go after what is must dear to you. so my gear is in the basement, my dog gets yelled at and i show affection to my wife in public :)
What is bad is my neighbor gets a lot of deliveries too.
Every time the USPS, UPS or Fedex truck drives into our culdesac, my dogs run to the window so they can see if the delivery is coming to our house.
Hopefully with a hammock filled package.
Whaaaaat?? No really. Those smudges on the window ARE from the dogs!
At least that is what I tell my wife. :D

your dogs put nose smudges on the window 5 feet up? must be really big dogs!

My first impression is that the switchback is a great evolution of the Speer hammock (which was my first true hammock and I still have and love today). It has many of the improvements I wanted for the Speer. It has a large bugnet that is zippered rather than velcro'd. There is a vast improvement in how the bug net line is configured. The material is more comfortable too.

On to more testing!
