Got my ATHH yesterday and I am very impressed so far. This thing is huge. Laying diagonal should be no issue, if you setup with the PU coating on the inside and use a pad, it should not slide around.

Coming in around a pound it's still not to heavy. I don't like the hooks and will be modding to rings.

I will be doing a hang test on saturday and will have more then.

I to got mine yesterday, and I have to say, even with the problems that kept them from being sold, I really like it! I hung mine last night and did a little late night reading in it, and I was able to lay, for all practical purposes, flat. It was very comfortable. Easy to hang. I just wrapped line around two trees a few times and hooked the hammock to one of the wraps on each end. Real easy, but I just got lucky in how far my trees were apart. I'll be modding also, but I haven't decided how yet :D. I do like the simplicity of the hammock with the hooks though.

Mine arrived today. I took it out of the stuff sack and spread it out. It looks great but I haven't played with it yet. I would like to see some diagram instruction or something like that showing it's varied uses and how to pitch them. I am not as creative as some of you, but at the same time... I haven't taken the time to unhook the s hooks and mess around with it as a tarp.

Thanks Chief Hammock Officer.... I'll be getting a check in the mail to you before Monday.

PS.. Hint about the stuff sack... Took me three tries to get the item back in the sack but not because of the coating issue. I started at the joiniing seam and started to stuff from there. I finally succeeded when I grabbed the S hooks and stuffed those first. leaving the joining seam for the last. That may be a no brainer for some of you.. but it wasn't for me.

Nice! Glad to hear that a few of you have received the hammocks and glad to hear you are satisfied to this point. On the new ATHH (V2) we have done hangtags with instructions and print information on the outside pouch making it easier to figure out. I'm going to attach some pictographs that show the various uses, i'm sure there are more and would love to hear about them.

This has been really fun getting a chance to speak with most of you and sharing some of our gear with you!

Here is the link to view the pictographs and a couple basic pictures....

That addresses my comment. I would find that helpful. Thumbs up. I do remember seeing those on the website and probably would have stumbled back there sooner or later. But having the readily available with the product is even better.

Jon, what are the differences between the ATHH V1 & V2?

The differences between V1 & V2 are......

The PU coating and general design/build of the product is correct. No more sticky PU coating on the inside of the stuff sack and the end folds were done correctly, making it easier to take out and put back the "S" hooks.

We changed the color from olive green to a dark blue.

V1 had 10 takeoff's and V2 has 8

Lowered the weight from 22 ounces to 20 ounces

Proper hangtags and printed information on outside stuff sack

Same overall functions

Hope this helps!

Cheif,

I just received mine today, and am eager to test it out. Neither here nor there, but another waterproof sack that goes inside a backpack/pannier I have is coated on the inside. It definately detracts, so I am glad you all decided to wait until the good version could be brought out. I am excited to get out and test!

Where are we to send feedback? Your email?

Mods--do you all have plans for the reviews?

WHAT! Went from a perfectly good stealth color to blue? :D There's a mod you might want to reconsider!

Seriously, you've done a great thing here, Chief! I'm looking forward to testing mine out when it gets here.

If you are reviewing a Travel Hammock please read this thread (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/general-hammock-talk/4404-attention-travel-hammock-reviewers-please-read.html).

Chief Hammock Officer,

I got my hammock today. Thanks.

Are you sending out just V1 hammocks for review or are you also sending V2's out? If people will be reviewing both versions I would like that to be noted in the collective review that I am putting together. That's why I ask.

I was thinking the coated side sould be on the outside when used as a hammock:confused:. Seems like it would make moving around while in the hammock almost impossible & maybe damage the coating:eek:. I'm going to get a chance to try it out this weekend & want to know what is the right way to use it.

That's the way i was using mine... coating on the outside.
I don't think I would like having that rubbery coating on the inside. I tried it that way for a couple minutes... then turned it.

hehe, I said to use it that way to stop a pad from sliding around. Not that I would use it that way all the time.

Mine got it's first real test as a hammock last night. I'll do a full report on the actual review page, suffice it to say I like it. I have the V1, & admit that changing it back from a tarp to a hammock is time consuming, but not too bad, would like to see the difference in the V2.

I do like the fact that it is longer than my Skeeter beeter!! It's also wider, & that is nice, but I love the length!!

Havn't really set up as a tarp, but that will happen tomorrow. NO, I'll not actually sleep on the ground, sorry Chief, that ONLY happens in an absolute Life or Death emergency. Hey, I don't even sleep in a bed if I can possibly help it :D
