I don't post much here but I do have a HH. I'll start a 10-day trip on the Alabama River leaving Montgomery AL on June 6th. I'll leave the river below Selma on June 15th.

If anyone from the area is on the river and spots me (a red-decked, black hull, Long Haul folding kayak), a cold beer would be more than welcomed. :D

Hiya gang - finished my trip and added details here (http://foldingkayaks.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2133).

I only had one small issue and I'm not sure if I can attribute it to the hammock or not - I lost feeling in my right shoulder. I thought maybe I was putting too much pressure on it OR it could have been the stress of a 100-mile paddle in a kayak.

If you don't want to read the report, here are a couple of pictures from various campsites:

and one non-hammock picture:

Cool pics. Makes me wish I hadn't sold my kayak. I'll check out your trip report.

Thanks for the kind remarks guys. We're going on a trip on the Rio Negro next year and we'll take our kayaks. We'll sleep in hammocks again but these will be on a small, typical Amazonia riverboat and we won't need anything as fancy as the HH. Pictures to follow... ;) ...next year.
