After making my clone (aka The ARK) with the adjustable ridgeline, I started wonder how it compares to the stock HH's.

Adventure Racer 108 96 0.888

Expedition Asym 120 100 0.833
ULBA 120 100 0.833
Desert Rat 120 100 0.833
Hyperlight Asym 120 100 0.833

That's interesting. A few years ago the Explorer was listed with a 108" ridgeline with 132" length of fabric, just like the Survivor now has.

What I do with that ratio is to take the inverse cosine of it and call that the sag angle. If you didn't use a ridgeline that is approximately the angle the suspension lines would be to have the same hammock sag. Your ratios would be this:

0.888 ==> 27 degrees.

0.833 ==> 34 degrees.

0.818 ==> 35 degrees.

0.778 ==> 39 degrees.

i saw a little electric 10" level at home depot today, you could just weight the hammock and hold the level on your suspension to see the exact angle.

Or you could drive over to Harbor Freight and buy an inclinometer (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=34214) for $5.99. Home Depot or Lowes probably has them also.
