It came, today. I openly admit I've only spent a limited amount of time in it, but, my goodness. What a cool rig. Some specs:
132ish by 60ish Double 70D Crinkle Taffeta = 440z with whoopies, but without straps / toggles. It's about the same as my BB w/ the stock suspension. I opted for a green overcover, same green as my HG quilts. :D
I provided a bunch of a particular cordage I found and love for guylines, Papasmurf incorporated it into even the stuffsack:

Just the ASRL:

Hardware examples. Dutch hooks, Dutch biner on the REMOVABLE ASRL, my cordage incorporated into the zipper pulls, and the sweet reflective black grosgrain Randy used:

Closeup of the M90 peak storage bags, with cordlocked bungied drawstrings:

A combo which will probably be my favorite:

Both ends of the ASRL can be tucked into the peak bags on either end, so this baby can go topless:

Very impressed, worth the wait. My UQ is off to Adam for an update, but it'll look right at home on this guy. Great job Randy!

I wish I could have gotten one of those while he was still taking orders. Hopefully there will be more to come later.

Can't wait for Randy to have some more time - this DangerBird is looking great!

I think the thing I was most impressed with was Randy's flexibility on the front end. Much like Adam over at HG, Randy built a hammock around ME, not me trying to find an "off-the-shelf" that would just "work". Not that people don't find their dream gear on the rack, but I felt a hammock could really benefit from some personalization.

Did I mention the GREEN purposefully matches my quilts?:lol::lol:

Looks awesome! Forgive my ignorance but does the overcover act just like a winter sock? Also, what mysterious cordage do you use?

Again, your pics show all of the excellent customization one can ask for when ordering a Dangerbird. You really tricked yours out with some nice titanium bling! Think of a name for it yet?

I think it's awesome that you put your doormat on the ground next to it :shades:

I was a little inquisitive on the OC too, but Randy explained it acts as some protection and a lot of privacy. I can say, without ever having toyed with any type of OC other than a tarp, that the wind was BLOWING for the maiden hang / photo shoot. That thing cut the interior wind movement to nill. I literally couldn't feel a whisper on the interior, even compared to the netting being closed (which does cut the wind a little). I can see it adding some noticeable temp range if needed. Privacy is obvious, but unappreciated till you're inside one with an OC.

The cordage: THIS in 1/16 (http://www.atwoodrope.net/utility.php) and forest green. It is awesome with prussics and would likely give before my tarp would (oh yeah, my tarp coordinates ) and, as a fisherman, I know 85lb test is no joke. I really like it. I have an email into them inquiring as to whether they make an Amsteel competitor.

The doormat: The joy of having three suitable trees in my little front yard. The kids know that's part of the deal (and the grass was wetter than it looks) if they want to test a hammock. Shoes off!

As to name: I've been playing with that a lot, but I think I've got it. I drive a 4x4 truck in the same color scheme and a name I've kinda taken for granted. My specific incarnation from Randy, with complete suspension, is essentially tied for weight with my BB, but is a ton bigger. I christen it:

THE TITAN

What kind of mod is Adam making to your underquilt? Does an underquilt need a mode to work on a Dangerbird? Or is it a personal preference thing.

That is one incredible piece of equipment!
It's ready for anything nature can throw at it.
I will be haunting Papa Smurf's new website :)

UQ mod not specific to my DBird Titan, just had Adam add in the new "baffles" and update the suspension. In looking at the Dbird, I see no reason why any different UQ would be needed, I'd just already been in talks with Adam over the update. Unfortunately I sent off my UQ about 5 days before my new hammock showed, so no nights spent so far! Got my shipping notice from Adam on Friday, so next week sometime...
