What if... we had a new HAAB Hammock company that produced hammocks that fit us and the way we hang?
What if... we could get that silky feeling "parachute style" fabric in 16 different color choices?
What if... we could get a 2.5oz fabric that would support over 500 lbs?
What if... these hammocks were built in.... say, Fredericksburg, Ohio instead of overseas?
What if... we always had the option of single layer or double layer?
What if... we could get a hammock built with ONE piece of fabric, instead of pieces sewn on the edges?
What if... we lost the bulky climbing ropes and get them with Amsteel instead?
What if... we could lose the heavy hooks and get real suspensions on them?
What if... we lost the attached bag and got a usable double ended stuff sack?
What if... we could get a 90" wide hammock that was a full 12.5ft long with NO SEAMS?
What if... we could get these features for about the same price as those imported hammocks?

It is a beautiful dream. Our cottage industries do a great job of getting us close to that dream. Time will tell on getting us closer. :)
PapaSmurf, your Dangerbird gets us close to that dream.... :) :) :)

Ok, I am ready!! I want something in a feminine color, soft and pretty....it's getting real hard to hang onto any kind of femininity being in the woods and playing with gear all of the time  A matching or contrasting tarp, UQ and TQ would be great too. Oh, and affordability is a must.

In my dream the option for custom work doesn't disappear ::Fingers Crossed::

I don't personally need a big comfy hammock... although I can't deny that for some reason I want one all of a sudden.

I have a 70" channel whipped DIY hammock about the lenght of your 90 incher and the edges are floppy even when on an extrem diagonal. Shock cord? Different method of whipping?

She said she wanted to feel feminine. Not be in constant pain and danger of breaking an ankle. (at least that's me in heels...)

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

My heel days are done since my last knee surgery. Plus I need to be able to get out of dodge should I ever run into a Sasquatch  Papa Smurf; I'll need some of those "magic" sheets to hide under for my future fuchsia hammock.

HAAB = Hook And Attached Bag

There are lots of hammocks available that share this same design. Many are made overseas by the same few companies with different labels sewn onto the attached stuff sack.

But I'm OK with "Hanging Artichokes And Breadsticks" too.

It's right around 2.57 oz per yard.
A 60" x 120" Hammock body without suspension weighs 15oz.

How much does the 90" wide hammock weigh? Thats some massively wide hammock. One could lay at 90° to the suspension if they wanted and have room to spare.

This seems to be a great WHAT IF... but I have to ask the better question: WHEN!?

Also, if we did a double layer, could we chose the color of both layers? So say someone wanted "apple green" and "chocolate." So they had a hammock that could be stealth friendly or viewer friendly? And what about options for ridge-line etc?

Yes, and I will hum "Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce..." while I build it.
Yes. ridgelines, whoopies, straps, etc.

What if.....you could ship overseas?
Yes, that's the plan. I'm still troubleshooting the USPS calculated rates, but once that's figured out, overseas is not a problem.

The double layer 90" I built the other day weighed around 61 oz. in the stuff sack.
I'm guessing a single would be around 32ish?.

There's a Burgundy DangerBird scheduled to arrive at someone's house today. Maybe they'll share some thoughts and photos.

The burgundy is one the colors has that shiny 2 color glowy look that kinda changes shades depending on viewing angle. I don't know how else to describe it. Did that sentence make any sense at all?
