These are a quite slow pages compared to Warbonnet section. I do not like these announcements, but in this case I thought it would be nice to have a new post here.

So, maybe in little over week I will be hanging on my new DL 1.9 SB with strap suspension.

HURRAY!!!

The switchback is still the best hammock that I own. I have a wbbb, a jrb bridge, light owl and 2 or 3 others. The switchback is still my go to hammock, and the one that I sleep the best in. Enjoy. dave

Hopefully I'll be enjoying my SB soon--haven't had it out in a while other than out at the park playing with my kids. They are great hammocks. Enjoy!

Hi praise indeed for these hammocks which I have not been fortunate enough to try out yet. I can not find what the dimensions of these hammocks are. Any one know? I'm thinking of how well they might work with Pea and PolarPods.

Bought one of the early ones and it immediately got confiscated by mi esposa. I finally bought #2 and it has the 2QZQ mod. I am liking it a lot. Looks real nice under my Hard Rock tarp by Arrowhead eq.

So it should be here tomorrow or wednesday at least.

I have been thinking SB should be a perfect companion to my MLD TrailsStar.

- Suspension can be hanged lower than BB, less interference with tarp and tarp can be hanged lower if in need to get a better wind protection (wind protection is problem with TrailStar in hammock use).

- Due to it's structure SB can be used as a mosquito netting when sleeping on ground under TrailStar, BB is not good for ground use.

- Winter and autumn time I can flip it over if the weather is warm and still enough and enjoy open space around me and better views. (Mosquito netting protects from wind and keeps warmth around, not much but it is noticeable at face area in cold season)

My own thread about TrailStar: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24852

MAGICAL!!!

I do not know how, but it feels just like I have always imagined hammock should.

Even when loaded with Exped SynMat DLX 9 and 14 mm full sized CCF pad and Wiggy's Antarctic with over bag everything just fits in and settles automagically right in the best spot. With BB there was always something to adjust to get everything in the right position for sleeping.

Comfort and simplicity! That is what I was looking for.

I noticed the website says suspension sold separately. I think they started with Whoopie then went to strap/buckles. Did yours come with straps or were they extra?

exactly.

i always laugh as i see many on this forum endlessly jump from one product to another. or get wrapped up in every little technical aspect of what's just a simple sleep system. or go overboard on gadgets.

my TTTG switchback and tarp gets a lot of use kayak camping and x-c hiking.
the hammock is comfortable and durable.
and it came with whoopies.
i got the straps and beeners separately.
the tarp is as good as any on the market.

as far as my gear needs are concerned, there's no need to look elsewhere.

Love my Switchback - I believe it was Shane in Texas that described it as "Hanging Nirvana"
I can't think of a better description!

It came with straps, but they must be bought as an extra option. I personally like the idea. I do not like whoopies, they are not simple enough (whoopies and tree huggers, with straps it is all in same package).

Of course one can think it is a way to make the price bit higher, but I think it is a way to serve Your customer by selling what one wants not what You think is the best option.

Thanks...I agree

I don't like to pay for something that I don't want or need.

Do you like this better than your BB?

I do not know yet. There are few problems with BB (I have two of them by the way and two quilt sets) which I think are solved with SB.

- I like the idea of symmetry. At some places BB can not be hanged optimally for view or ground or both because of the asymmetrical design. Sometimes it would be nice to get in from both sides, or keep gear at other side and use the other side for going in and out and cooking for example.

- As I said I try to build a system as good on ground as hanged. With SB I do not need extra bug net for ground use. (I think)

- With BB there is usually some fiddling to do when using pad or two pads for under insulation. And sometimes that must be done even during night. It seems that with SB pads are easier to place and they probably stay at the right position without fiddling. With UQ BB is excellent, but UQ can not be used on ground.

- I hope the view is better from SB. There is no view in BB when zipper is closed.

But I have not used SB enough to be sure yet. Hopefully within this winter...

(First thing I will test tomorrow after work day is the upside down SB, if that works it will be the one of the best features ever.)
