Laters, y'all!
Oh, to keep it on topic, I'll be using my WB Blackbird 1.7 DL with straps and whoopies, a Speer Winter Tarp, and Hammock Gear Winter Burrow and Incubator (with 3 season Burrow and Crow's Nest on standby with Dancer, in case it's too warm for the cold stuff. :D

read, noted and bookmarked. BTDT on the job front. It will pass. As a nurse you have better options than a lot of folks. One of my life lessons was watching my dad die of cancer at 63 after putting off a lot of things until after he planned on retiring at 65. Good luck on the trail. It will let you sort out a lot. I hope what you figure out works for you.

I'm hooked .. We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.

I enjoyed your first few pages. Please let us know how your cheesy grits and chocolate oatmeal works out. It could turn out to be so different of a taste sensation that it might work simply because it is so odd.

Love your attitude :) Will be keeping up with you, till you decide to get off trail. Don't quit on a bad day ....enjoy your journey.
Hey Hooch....I'll be about two weeks behind you. One quick question if you haven't left yet. Are you using a transcriber when posting to Trail Journals or are somehow doing it yourself via a smartphone? I think I'll be doing it myself via Postholer using my Droid Incredible.
Have fun out there...maybe see you at Trail Days if that's in your plans.
Miguel
Good luck to you Hooch. I feel myself near the same cross roads, still employed as of now. Things change and I may just have to come and find you on the trail. I'll follow you as you go, it will be eaiser to find you then. LOL!

I went through a similar set of circumstances a few years back, I only wish I had the chance to just go for a long hike at that point. Enjoy the time you have out there, let the worries of "civilization" fall away and take time to just think of what you really want for your life.
I'll be following your journal and hope to meet you one day within the piney woods. :shades:
Good Luck and happy trails...
I'll be following your hike...

Good Luck Hooch. I too will follow your journal. Gotta say I'm pulling for you to make it to Maine. However, you have clearly stated that the end will find you and not the other way around.
Hope the time on the trail will help you clear the cobwebs and you find yourself with a new set of life goals. :thumbup1:

Glad to see your are getting out "once in a while". Keep on chugging. Hope it is a great trip.
With a little luck, I'll be starting at James River and heading to Harper's Ferry Around April 9/10. Using Trail Journals also.:D
. . . .One quick question. . . .Are you using a transcriber when posting to Trail Journals?Yes and no. My girlfriend, Dancer, will be transcibing for me, but I'll do some of it myself when I hit town, depending on how computer situations look. A lot of places limit computer time or others need to use the computer as well, so it just depends on where I am and what things are looking like then.
