Here is my pimped out ENO setup, not the lightest, but surely comfortable and very simplistic and quick to pitch.

ENO DN, Guardian, ProFly, homemade tarp tensioners pegged out with Ground Hogs, Amsteel SLS with 6 foot AHE straps, all encased in DIY snakeskins PIF'ed from BadChef. The main ridge line is adjustable via the whoopie ends, and the underlying hammock suspension is adjustable via the whoopies binered to the alpine butterfly knots in the main line. I find that I lay more comfortably at about a 15-20 degree angle, so this setup allows me to choose the angle that fits best any given night and still retain the simplicity of a SLS.

And here's what keeps the tarp from sagging when I get in. These things are great. If you don't already have them, make them. Buy a 10 dollar exercise tube from Walmart and spend 30 minutes making them. You won't regret it.

Yeah, it is a little hard to see as I also have an s-biner clipped into it to hold the tarp ridgeline. It hasn't given me a reason to distrust it yet. I've got one night and one fantastic afternoon nap on it thus far. Judging by the way the alpine butterfly is formed, it's ideal for a SLS setup. The knot is designed to support weight on all 3 sides, and that's precisely what the SLS provides. If it's good enough to keep a mountaineer from falling down a crevasse (which is it's intent and most common use), it's good enough for me to hang from. :)

How do you like your profly? does it offer good enough protection for every thing less than a full blown t-storm?

I personally haven't used it in anything more than a light drizzle. However, two weekends ago, a friend of mine used it over his grand trunk (my wife and I were in a tent :() pitched on the windward shore of the lake and endured a full-on thunderstorm dryly. It needs to be pulled a little tighter than usual to keep it up high enough inside the ProFly to keep the sideways rain out, so 30* is a little hard to get. But pulled tighter, with the sides pitched down low and oriented correctly, hard rain is no problem.

Although I like my ENO tarps fine, I think there are better options out there. I'll end up either confirming or revising my opinion this week when my Guide Gear 9X9 and 12X12 get here. :thumbup1:

Looks cozy. I've swapped my Guardian out for a Wilderness Logics net, but I'm using the same set up for hammock and tarp.

Looks like a good start to mod-heaven. Would you stick with a full-on bug "bag" like that, or sew one onto the hammock? Zippers aren't that hard to add.

For the time being, I'm sticking with the full-enclosure net. I frequently hang a leg or two over the edge and would like to keep that ability, plus I'm still using a pad so the possibility exists of through-the-hammock butt bites.

Questions? Comments? Snide remarks?

I'm new and have just been trolling around trying to pick up some info. I was just wondering if you could clarify a few things from your setup.

What kind of knot do you have in your whoopie slings that attach your s-binder's? I guess I don't really see how the tarp attaches to the lines exactly?
I'm guessing the black cord that goes from the hammock to the carabiner is some kind of continuous loop? What is the grey string that is also running between these points? looks like a second whoopie?

General questions for other members:
Does it matter where I put the bungee/shockcords in the tarp tie outs (closer to the stakes or the corners of the tarp)?
Would you also ever put shockcords on the tarp ridgelines as well to provide a bit of give on those lines as well?
the setup looks great.
