I'm looking to get some feedback on what some of the Clark users have tried for insulation in the under pockets. Spare clothes are a no-brainers since you have to store them anyway. I read somewhere about using inflated ziplocs bags. Anyone tried these? I will eventually be using this in the middle of winter.

Thanks in advance.

My advise.....

Stuff the pockets with your gear and find a pad that works for you to use as insulation. The pockets add an extra layer but they don't completely eliminate the need for a pad. I did make some insulation squares out of open cell foam glued to Walmart blue CCF and used them in the pockets with gear under them to snug them up against the bottom of the hammock. It worked alright down into the low 50's but by morning my butt was getting cold as were my legs and feet and it was around 45 in morning.

Once the night time lows get into the low 50's I really like my Exped DownMats. Above that they are too warm though. I will sweat to death in the 60's with them.
