Which UQ for Bias WWM?

I got the dbl layer fully intending on using a PAD but I wondered what options were out there for UQ that would fit this 11'. I've not got it fully dialed in yet but was curious if anyone had quilted their bias...

Short answer: any should be fine.

Long answer:

I've just noticed that you say the 11 foot thing- remember that the quilt only has to cover where you are- so the dimension is really how tall you are and whether or not you want your feet covered. (and also remember you lie on a diagonal for the flat lay.) If you want hammock covering goodness, check out the Speer PeaPod, now manufactured by TreeToTrail gear.

Lots of UQ (underquilts) should fit most gathered end hammocks- they are usually designed to fit most hammocks.

You've got a lot of options- down or synthetic, baffle type (how the down/notdownfluff is grouped), 3/4 length or full, suspension system, COST, wearable (multi use). :)

There is always the Poncho Liner UQ (PLUQ- I pronounce plook, it's more fun that way) and other DIY options.

5'9 diagnol layer for sure, looking for a full size down version.

Currently making a DIY synthetic sleeping bag cutout.

i use 11 footers and i believe any will work just fine as t h said.

Are any BIAS owners using any 3/4-length or other short UQs such as the AHE Jarbridge? Specifically down to the low 30's?

Oh I like this setup. I bet I could take it to the low 30's with some of the extra clothing I typically carry.

I've used a 60" wide BIAS DL with HG Phoenix 20* 3/4 UQ into the 20s. I don't think longer, wider hammocks necessitate longer, wider underquilts. The underquilt width/length is to keep the human warm, not the hammock.

With something to insulate your feet a Jarbidge will take most anyone down to at least the low 30's. Many folks report going lower, especially of you have some thermal layers on.

My wife is 5' 2" , but a hot sleeper and hot natured,,and she has taken the 30 degree Jarbridge down to even 30 degrees with 40mph gusting wind and blowing snow lightly 2 nites in a row and no complaints,,all she had on was a tee shirt and sweats,,with a 30 degree BA down bag over her for a quilt that nite and all she did was complain how hot she was,,but that is her, I have been using a 50 degree jarbride for the last couple of months and am 6' and need nothing else other than a custom made 50 degree down quilt by UG. the 3/4 Jarbridge does a nice job on 11' hammocks,,but so do my other full size quilts as well,,they fit nicely and I am 6'. Any good quilt will work on a 11' hammock.

I'm using a 55" long DIY made from an old sleeping bag with an outer layer of water resistant silnylon. It's cut to a tapered shape like a Yeti with channel & side to side draw cord.
Works fine and I'm also 5'9"
