I'm considering one of these! I looked at the WB Traveler but it weighs 12oz! The Nano comes in at 7. How substantial are these? Can you get a diagonal lay? I'm 5'4" & weigh 128#! I've hung in a GT UL & didn't like all the excess fabric that kept falling into my face! The Nano is shorter & more narrow!
I don't want to waste my money if these are cheap junk!
Opinions welcomed!

I'm 6'0 and have enjoyed the gt ul.
If your smaller and want the smaller hammock, the nano is probably a good choice.
The fabric has held Pretty well so far for me. So I'd recommend it.

you could also look at the BIAS weight weenie micro I think it is an ounce or two lighter. But I have heard good things from both hammocks so
i don't think you can go wrong. With the Bias you can also choose the width which can be nice depending on what width you like!

I'm 5'7" and I use a DIY version of this hammock with a Knotty Mod on the head and foot end and enjoy it very much. equally as comfortable as some of the bigger hammocks I've tried.

I think the nano will be fine for you. I know guys much bigger than you who've loved it. I like the Nano, but since getting the BIAS hammock, I haven't taken the nano out much.

MY WWM is defiantly more of a go to than my gt. it's very very comfortable and lighter!

Thanks! Leaning toward the Bias micro with the Knotty mod! Can't beat the weight plus I like to support our cottage industries!

I never used a Good choice! Bias stands behind their products, and I've been very pleased with mine, and I know I'm not the only person!

I just picked one of these up from a forum member and after just lounging in it I have a feeling my Hennessey is about gonna be shelved as soon as my tulle gets here and I make a bugnet for it. That thing is unbelievably comfy and roomy, and it's the 52" version. With suspension and DE stuffsack, that is way bigger than needed, it weighs 13.3oz Add a tulle bugnet and I'll be just over a pound out the door. Can't beat that!

WB traveler 12.5 oz include the suspension. Nano 7oz doesn't include the suspension.
I have the Nano and also WB traveler. WB traveler is more comfortable than Nano because it is bigger. You can also make a DIY hammock to fit your body frame.

Good luck with your setup.

At your size/wieght, You'll do fine in the Nano 7. The material is lightweight so beware of wearing sharp objects when using. I own two of these hammocks and love them. I sometime use one as a gear hammock or when going out with the family, as a back up.

I have a Nano, but even at 5' 6" I felt it was too small. Plus, it doesn't seem to be very substantial, but a lot of people use them without problems. One thing to consider is you'll need some sort of bug net with it. Your weight advantage may disappear with a bug net.

+1 on getting a bug net, although you can get pretty light. I believe Fronkey's net is in the range of 4-5 ounces. A HUG net is in the 2-3 ounce range.

I'm also 5'4 and am quite happy with the nano. I've Been using it for winter as I don't need the bug net and it works well with a uq.I'm not a angle sleeper tho and prefer a taught straight lay.I'll be making a bug net soon once the material arrives but will getting a hammock from papa Smurf with an integrated netfor summer work I think

I attached my review of the grand trunk.

I think it is a fantastic hammock. I have heard that for some people it is perfect and for others it is not. I rather a longer hammock that is a bit wider but for a smaller person it might be the perfect fit.

I'm 6' tall and 210-215lbs. I can sleep very comfortably in my Nano

You must be a back sleeper, and a still sleeper.

I love my nano! I'm 5-10, 175 lbs. The hammock itself is just 4.3 oz. (I think). I added whoopies and a structural ridge line. I can't sleep on my back, at all, not one bit. The nano is very comfy for me on my side. It doesn't cradle you like larger hammocks but its stable and I tend to shift positions frequently. I also have the BIAS micro weenie and the HH ultralight. They generally get loaned out or stay in the closet, while the nano goes where I go.

I'm torn between the nano and the bias weight weenie. I'm leaning towards the bias because its a little bigger. Any other suggestions or recommendations? I'm planning on just using it for fun, not for overnights; so the lighter the better.

The nano is so small and light, although in reality, it's only a few ozs. less those few ozs. are the equal to almost two nanos to the BIAS MW.

Thanks for considering us! We appreciate it.

The only advantage to a BIAS WWM is the length/comfort. It's hard to make a recommendation without your size, but I'd suggest that if you're below 5'9, the Nano would be perfectly adequate. It "retails" at 7 oz., but that includes suspension hooks or biners (can't recall which). Without those, you're in the 5 oz. range. The WWM is 6 oz. but comes without any rigging other than channel loops and a fixed ridgeline. A suspension kit including stock straps, whoopies and toggles runs about 4 oz. Bear in mind the Nano would still need suspension.

I am not trying to sell you but explain the differences. Our WWM was inspired by a desire to create something lighter and more comfortable than the Nano. But some folks don't need "more comfortable" because the Nano is adequate. Some folks say it's lighter because stripped down, it can weigh less than the WWM (but it's four inches narrower and two feet shorter, so that's basically why). This is a comfort tradeoff for bigger folks, but smaller frames won't feel it as much... other than the bigger hammock will swallow them.

Hope this helps. Thanks again.

i got a Nano 7, ditched the stock suspension (nice carabiners, by the way) since it was overkill. it seems to be just enough, tighter than my WB traveler but at 2/3 the weight im not complaining!

i am using Paul @ Arrowhead's Dynaglide whoopies with a Dynaglide ridgeline.

tree straps, whoopies, aluminum toggles, and hammock: 6.5 ounces -

the only way to beat that is cuben. $$$
