Dutch

This year has I had some of the highest highs and lowest lows for me. A couple years ago I started to make Dutch clips as part of a group buy with 2Q. I had it quoted to make only 50 to 100 parts. So much has happened since then and this commumity has meant so much to me. Some of my most cherished freindships have come directly from these forums. The way HF is run has fostered a loving kind community that gets to meet every so often to share a common interest. The growth has been remarkable and how it still feels like a small community is amazing. I have freinds from around the globe. I am so glad to be a part of it.

Now for the title. I have sold 10,000 units this year so far. It is inconceivable to me that in about 9 months all those trinkets were cut, polished, sanded and put in little envelopes and shipped out. This is a big milestone for me. I am going to look for some way in the near future to repay the loyalty. This has been the worst economy of my life and yet so many have found the scratch on their pockets buy me trinkets. I hope everyone really feels my graditude. I hope I stay loyal to the values and princibles the created the loyalty toward Dutchware.

Thank you everybody!!!

That is amazing! What percentage of your sales are for uses besides hammocking? I continue to be amazed by the size of the hammock community. I had no idea all these years sleeping on the ground that all this activity was going on, behind...over, my head. Your success should be an inspiration to all the other vendors in this community. Hang on, are all the vendors seeing this kind of success? Congratulations!

Oh Dutch! This is great news!
It is we who owe you a tremendous thanks! Your "trinkets" have improved our hammocking experience; especially gram weenies like me! But it's not just the lightness, it's also the convenience.

Even though your wares are small, this is no small thing you've done for the community! To conceive of these ideas is a major step: to manufacture them is a huge step: and to send them out with such care is the finishing touch. All this while taking care of family, work and all the other commitments of life.

I sincerely hope that I get to hike with you some day!

Dutch - As a real noob to this, my comments probably don't mean a whole lot, but...

I have been reading and researching here for a very long time. I have looked your videos as well as others...I have read most of the posts on the Dutchware thread and find myself on my way to a similar set-up as Dac01...I have the Toxawawy tarp with the whoopsieslings single line ridgeline - Dutchware edition, plus a pair of Dutch tarp pullouts. My research efforts have lead me towards a set-up similar to his hammock set-up...I just haven't yet ordered it all, but it will be coming this year yet! I am not eloquent or creative, so I can only echo what others such as Acer and mountainhanger have said...you are a truly wonderful asset to this community and it is a fond wish of mine to be able to hang with you some day. Your creations are not 'trinkets', but 'jewels' as was pointed out in a different thread. Congratulations and keep up the fabulous contributions!

I love it when businesses prosper. Great job, Dutch. I just placed a $60.00usd order. The new little quilt clips are going to be used in Handbags I am making, they will work great for keeping things easily accessible in a handbags. I am also going to put a couple in our bus, so the flashlight is easy to find. So many uses so little money.
GREAT JOB.
