I've used this method when setting up slacklines and thought i'd share it as it *could* be usefull for somebody (someday sometime ;) )

I've used skinnier links than the ones shown in the description. Smooth links are recomended to protect the webbing.

I just thought it might be a usefull bit of knowledge. Presently I use spectra with 'biners tied to it to hang my Byer, I'm planning to move to webbing and a four wrap soon but I dont like tying knots in webbing if I can help it.

If I can get hold of some rings I'd like to go the way Just Jeff uses http://www.tothewoods.net/HomemadeGearRingBuckleSupports.html but the above is one of the ideas I'm considering seeing as I have the kit allready.

That's pretty neat...useful knowledge. And I bet there are lighter options than chain link for our uses, too.

Looks good. Useful in a pinch in the field. You might be able to use a second biner to serve as the ring in a tight spot. Although rightnow I don't have 1 let alone 2 biners in my setup.

I wouldn't bet on it!
I have a pair downstairs but I'm too lazy to go down and weight them.
But those are built to hold and are really expensive, since they are forged.

Cant find any prices on Us sites at the moment.

As mater of fact most slackliners use ordinary chain links.

And i think "your" (hammock guys) 2 ring system is easier to adjust.
