Hi there,

Would anybody be interested in a winterhang in the Czech Republic from Friday 7 December till Sunday 9 December, 2012 ?

There are several area's nice for hiking here, from mountains till beautiful parks, along rivers or pure forest area, passing by great ancient ruins of castles and other nice sightseeing points.

(you can google for example "cesky raj" or "kokorínsko" or "sumava" or "ceske hrady" or "krkonose mountains" to get an idea of this country)

Depending on the snowfall during that time, we might need snowshoe's.
If you do not have them, that is not an issue, we can rent it here in many places, so no worries about that.

Please let me know if you are interested, and what kinda of area you would prefer, so we can make a perfect route.

For those who would be travelling a long distance, coming and leaving a day earlier would not be a problem, i have a guestroom available if needed.

Greetings,
Tuliku

I am interested but I can not foresee my schedule opening up for the time it takes to enjoy the trip. I have tons of former tramping buddies out there. These days we only exchange trip pictures.

Ahoj! This sucks - I am injured and in no position to walk, let a lone hike and hang!

What are the rules for camping in the Czech republic - are you allowed "wild camping"?

Hi, in some parks you are not allowed camping, but is most places it is no issue.
The main unwritten rule is that if you don't create dangerous situations, don't damage anything and leave any garbage behind, no one will bother you.
I've been hanging here now for several years during many trips, and never had any control or anything like that. We always leave the place as if we have never been there. Just twice some people walked by our camp, first time it was tourists, and the second time it was people collecting mushrooms (a very traditional thing here).

Only problem would be with fishing, this is very protected and you need 2 kind of licenses for this. 1 license for fishing in general, and then the license for the particular area, or you can buy a expensive one for the whole country.

The country is scattered with ruins of castles, which is very nice. Most trips i plan around some ruin or other nice view point. Check my youtube channel for some video's of my trips, and you get a good idea what this country is like, and our way of hiking / hanging.

Diki moc! That's very good to know. I am after all only a couple of hours from Brno, so it has the makings of a nice weekend trip.
