How do you untie the end knot on a Speer style hammock? This thing is rock solid now. Should I soak it in hot water or something?

what do you mean- on the end of a hammock, I assume. A-la Risk's test hammock? I do know it is undoable, at least, it was for me... my hammock got soaked at the ends one night in a backyard test, and we just undid it and dried it out on the washing line. I'm not sure about the lighter fabric (ie, ripstop) and different webbing, though.

I think pushing either the fabric or the webbing did the trick in the end.

sorry- memory doesn't record everything. :/

Yeah, the end of the hammock. I got them loose. It took awhile but I got it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

It is doable, but hard. I usually am able to work it loose using some pliers and a screw driver. Just be careful of the fabric with the tools.

I took an ink peen a shoved it down and pried it loose a bit. Then just pulled and tugged until it came loose.

a knife works well

Yeah, and it makes my hammock mistakes perfect for someone 5'8" instead of the 6'4" I need.

just cut the webbing not the hammock

I think he is talking about the half hitch that is put into the end of the ripstop nylon to keep the hammock shape and the webbing from coming off. Same use as whipping.
