I just wanted to see how many active hammock campers that we have in my general area. I have never been to a group hang, but I am thinking about trying to make it out to one. I always hang with a small crew of several hangers from my area. I am in NE Alabama, but I Usually backpack in the AL,GA,TN, area. Who is out here with me??? Hello!!!:D

Check out the Hammock Forums Google map on the home page. Not everyone has located themselves on there but it will give you a great start!

Wow after just looking at the member locator list the Southeast is where all the hammock action is. Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina are really representin it for hammocks.

Thanks guys, Good to see ya! I signed the chart and I am still checking out the map. I just wanted to see who was actually "active" and actually getting out there a lot in my area. We do have quite a lot of people hangin in our area. I have 2 acres with lots of trees adjoining Little River Canyon National Preserve, that would be perfect for a hang out. Here is the view.

Welcome from a little bit further to the south.

If you feel like a bit of a drive, the 3rd Annual FL Hang is going to be worth it, in my opinion. It's in January, in Ocala National Forest. The links for it are in my sig.

I'm here in Athens, Tennessee, close to the GSMNP, Cherokee National Forest, and a score of Tennessee state parks and state natural areas, which are the places I hang out and camp the most. However, most of my hanging happens right here in the yard between two willow oaks.

+1 from another FL hanger, hense the name. We would love to have you at the 3rd Annual FL Hang if you can make it. Check out the threads for the hang if you have some time. We have many hangers from all over coming to FL for this hang. You will have a great time.
