Anyone got a picture of an OMW tarp with the pole mod installed?

Marty & Co make a helluva tarp. But the images on their website leave me unsatisfied.

It is a simple modification. I cut some footprint tieouts off a used up REI tent foorprint I had. They have the small grommet rings for smaller poles. I stitched up the nylon ribbing to complete the loop and then looped them through the center tieouts of my OMW. I then purchased a replacement pole set from Bass Pro (ultralight aluminum poles) for about 20 dollars. They come with everything you need already put togehter. I reduced the pole sets down to three sections which is about 54 inches keeping the shock cord inside. I then place these in the small holes in the tie-outs above the OMW and it opens it up nicely. I will try and put a picture set up so you can see. It took about 30 minutes to do everything. The poles store nicely in my pack.
Hope this helps.

Thx. Got the kit from WL and will post a few pics when I'm able. Opens it up great and the CF poles are sub-featherweight. Sweet!

Here's the one I'm talkin bout. Two superlight carbon poles that go over the top of the tarp from pullout to pullout. Shown here it's a pretty flat roof though I expect to get more tension by using a CRL over the top of the tarp.

For those who have the OMW center pole mod, do you find it necessary to stake out the middle/bottom tieout when the pole is in place? I like the tarp, but I'd prefer to use just 4-stakes.

Here is my own version of the modification. I have seen Marty's and they are nicer than this but function the same.

If you hook prussiks to the pullouts and tie a guy line to the end of the pole, you can adjust the tension so you don't have to flatten out the ridgeline. I put two prussiks on the ridgeline as well to thread the poles through and then tighten them by pulling towards the tree on each side, keeps everything taught and in place.

I was looking at the OMW and I really like the internal pole though I wonder if they can make it like the link with 2 internal poles and I can forego the panel pulls. I do have an email into them with some questions and will have to ask once I get a reply.

I'm pretty sure Marty's Angels can take care of that. I wish I had gone 2 pole.

He is working on a doub. int. pole mod on his New Tarp for me. (it's gonna be So Sweet!)

It can be done and the price isn't bad, though after some measuring today I really don't need a 11' ridgeline even so I am really considering the New Tarp 10x10 with the outside pole mod for easy work. Plus it will still come in lighter than my 9x9 currently.
