Hey all, I was just wondering if there is an "annual" spring hang in MN? I would like to get out and meet some new people, I am kind of chomping at the bit to get out again. If there is not one looking for input on when/location. Would like to aim for a when of 30* for a low so more people are able to come who don't have the low temp gear.

I'm looking to get out next week as well, being on spring break and all. Personally I'm looking to stay closer to the cities, but don't let that stop you from deciding on SHT.

I looking for a spot in central mn, any suggestions? Hope within a 2hr drive of TC, for some a 3-4 drive to the SHT is a stretch. I dont The state forests open until may 1st, but I will check, I was kind of thinking Rum River State Forest. I have never been there, but the have dispersed camping, and that sounds like it would work. Any one know anything about it?

Never been, but Rum River looks like a good bet. I was also thinking of Lake Maria?

I was at lake Maria in mid Feb, I think that would be good for 6 people+-, I'm not sure if it would too well for a larger group, I was thinking weekend of April 20 or the 27th, --- thoughts/input?

Hey all, unless I hear any other requests, I will be at rum river state forest Weekend of April 20th, I plan on heading up Friday 19th and staying until Sunday (2 nights).

PS - I'm always down for Lake Mariah as well, since I live closer to that park. Rum River sounds pretty cool though because I've never been there!

A great area in central MN is on the NCT going west from Walker to Itasca SP. Nice trail and great camp sites along the way and located on small lakes.
