Hi everybody!
In response to some requests and following the success of the Whiteblaze t-shirt sale, Attroll has found the time (in the midst of server-switching) to put together our very own Hammock Forums T-shirt!! How cool is that!
Troll and Jeff have asked me to take care of ordering logistics for the sale. I'll be keeping track of orders, shipping info, and money. Then at the end of the sale, I'll hand everything over to Troll to get the shirts made and shipped.
The sale will run approximately six weeks. You can expect a couple of weeks lag time past that for Troll to get the shirts made and shipped. All proceeds go to help Troll upkeep the Forums, so let's all pitch in and help him keep things running!
REQUEST: When ordering, please include your HF screen name in first line of your shipping address on the PayPal order form. This will help me keep track of the orders.

According to Troll, there's no cotton - these are wicking hiking shirts. He didn't specify what they ARE made out of (I'll ask him), but they're the same base T-shirt as the WB ones sold last year.

They're 100% polyester, but they're so soft I thought they were cotton. Had to check the tag to be sure...much more comfortable than the CoolMax type of polyester shirts.

Yeah what Jeff said.
They are 100% polyester and they are made by two different companies. it depends on what shirt is in stock at the time of the order. One company is called "Vapor" and the other is "Brookline Inc". Vapor does not have a web site. Here is some information from Brookline http://www.brooklineinc.com/evapr8.htm. I can not guarantee that we will get Brookline because like I said it depends on what is in stock at the time of the order. Both shirts are pretty much the same though.

If they're the same as what you offered late last year on WB then they are quite soft and comfortable!

Apparently there's been some unavoidable lag time involved on the T-shirt supplier end before, so we may not make it - but we'll definitely try!

Ive got one of the Whiteblaze shirts and I wear it to work out in and this weekend, on a two day backpacking trip. It really does feel like cotton and does as good a job of wicking as do my pricier "Under Armour" shirts. At $20 bucks, including shipping, its not a bad deal. Just my 2 grams. BD :D

Will those of you who have already ordered please send me a PM with your REAL name so I can match those up?

I don't see any "Comment" section on the PayPal format, at least on this order form. I'll send it without my screen name if it isn't there the next time I check.

Apparently the "comments" section I'm used to seeing on a PayPal form isn't showing up for some reason. Do those of you who aren't seeing that option have established PayPal accounts, or are you just using credit cards? That might make a difference, but I dunno for sure.

This may have been asked, but is there a sizing chart?
There is not sizing chart. It is just the standard sizes for shirts.
Whatever standard means. I guess if it is a bit too big that won't be a problem.
Whatever standard means. I guess if it is a bit too big that won't be a problem.
Sorry I did not clarify more. My best explanation would be if you went to Walmart or Kmart and bought a T-shirt that was a large and then you bought one of our hammocks T-shirts that were also a large they would be the same size. The only differences is that ares do not have any cotton in them and they do not shrink.
That would be the best way I could describe it.

Has the order been placed yet, or are we waiting for more orders before placing it?
Thanks!
That is not really what I meant. What I meant is that there doesn't seem to be a such thing as a standard size. If I buy one brand of shirt I may wear a medium, while another brand I might wear a small. I will just get the medium and hope that works.

Hey lvleph,
You're going to SEHHA this weekend. Maybe some going will have their WB tshirts if they bought 'em. Ask and you can probably check them out for size. I understand they are the same as the HF shirts will be.
I am sure a medium will be fine. It may be too big, but that is okay.

Just an update, everybody...
There's a little over a week left on the T-shirt sale - as posted, it ends Saturday the 21st. So you last-minute type people (procrastinators like me :p ) make sure to get your orders in by then!
I thought I said this before, but we're compiling all the orders at once after the sale's over. Should be no more than two weeks after that to get them shipped.

I'll have my HF shirt if I end up making it to SEHHA this weekend. I'm about 60/40 on going now, depending on what time I get out of work Friday.

I would like to order some extras. We really do not have any overhead so to speak of for the HammockForums web site. This means the funds we have for this web site are ZERO. That means I can not order extra shirts with money we don't have. We are riding on the WhiteBlaze web site for free. I can not dip into the WhiteBlaze funds to order shirts for this web site. It would just not be right and for accounting purposes it would screw things up.

I will have the shirts at my house Tuesday afternoon. The problem is that I will not be able to mail them out until the following Wednesday. I have some bad news on the hammock forums shirts. In fact two pieces of bad news.
1. UPS lost the shirts in the system and had to pay the shirt company the money for losing them. The company is redoing the shirts now. They had to order the shirts. I should have them by Tuesday they told me.
2. I have not received the money form BlackBishop yet for the shirts. I just emailed him asking him for it. This is not something I am worried about and it is something this is not a big issue.

The place that does the shirts for me in about 100 miles from where I live. If I have extras, that is funny. The reason I say that is because I just got done packaging all the shirts and they did balance out right. I am missing a 2XL and a couple other issues. I think it might look good without them, for a simple design. As a matter of fact, what would you think about taking the 'tan' colored portion out and just letting it be the same as the background color? I think the attached variation might look good on a black shirt.

That had also crossed my mind too. It might be better without the tan color because the tan might not work with the other colors on a shirt.
What does everyone else think.

Here is the issue on the shirt colors. I can get just about any color. The problem is that the process of putting the image on the shirt is a dying process. So what ever color the shirt is will combine with the color of the die. So if you use a blue shirt the dye for the yellow on the sun may have it turn out green (I think that is what blue and yellow make). Remember mixing colors in school. Well that is sort of what happens when you dye a shirt. This is the reason I have always stuck with the color gray. We could use while but gray hides the dirt better.

I like this. I don't see how legs hanging out of a hammopck implies anymore relaxation than not? I don't hang my legs off my bed to get more relaxed? I'll buy a shirt either way, or another one rather. I'm also an artist and don't understand how its more artistic? Pollock would say "use a paint stick and drips some legs on it" and consider that more artistic. Logos dont have to be artistic...its like a trademark. We aren't Artistic hammockers...we are a hammocking forum. The logo is to distinguish us from other forums and hammocking forums if they ever pop up. :)

Well, with a real bad hangover, sometimes the only way to make the room stop spinning is to hang one leg down on the floor. And who can relax when the room is spinning?!
