Hi, Is there a reason I cannot view any pictures (I'm looking specifically at the DIY Bridge Hammock)? I get a 403Forbidden error. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Which browser are you using?

Mrprez is right in asking about your browser. Also, can you provide a specific thread or article link where pics don't show up?

I'm using firefox. I can't seem to view any of them. I'm looking at GrizzlyAdams' guide to making a bridge hammock. Under "Cutting the Hammock Body" the first link to a picture gives me the following error:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /gallery/files/4/2/3/flex-pole.png on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I get this for all links.

Thanks for your help!

Have you made any changes in your about:config file? I had this same problem a few weeks ago and had made a change in that file and it was causing the same problem.

Where is the "about:config" file located? I'm not familiar with it.

Alright, I found the "about:config" file. Its the first time I've seen it, so I assume I've not made any changes to it, unless I did so invisibly and inadvertently.

FYI...I'm getting the same result with MS Explorer.

That changes things then. Not sure what could cause both programs to act like that.

Here's another example of the error, this one received when I went into the gallery and arbitrarily selected a file:

Forbidden

Are you using any kind of proxy server?

(If you don't know, then you probably aren't).

He lives in Binghamton, NY. I used to live near there.... that explains it all

Seriously tho get your post count up over 15 and see if that makes a difference. It seems there is a security setting on some of the features that requires more than 15 posts. I don't understand it either.....but that seems to be the case.

That won't make a difference.

The 'security feature' you mention is only active in the 4sale section. A member must either have at least 15 posts or be a donating member to create new 4sale threads.

I bow to superior knowledge....

angrysparrow know whereof he speaks. Far better than I.

No, no proxy server. This seems to be the only site I have this difficulty on. I checked several other forums I frequent and I have no problems on them. This is really strange!

I know that when it was happening to me it was due to the fact that HF was not able to see my IP address due to a change in my about:config file. Is there a setting on your firewall that is blocking your IP address from being seen?

I reinstalled my browser, and that seems to have fixed the issue. Don't know what the problem was, but so long as I can view the pics I'm set. Thanks for all your help!

Glad you have it fixed. I know it is frustrating not being able to see the pictures.
