Wish me luck I'm heading out early Sat. to hike from US 220 Daleville to Rockfish Gap. It's 133 miles and I hope to do 18 to 20 miles a day. Haven't decided on the BB or the RR yet, but leaning toward the RR. Couple more oz. for a little extra comfort.

Good Luck!

I remember that section. It took me 6 days. I stopped in Glasgow to re-supply. It took a long time to get a hitch back to the trail.

Your the man, I'm planning on 7 days. I'll have to sit and talk with you on the whole resupply trick. How did your trip go. Did you and TallPaul make it up to Mt.Rodgers

OOps, I just rechecked my journal and it actually took me 7 1/2 days. I only resupplied in Glasgow. Two women hikers took me there, but it took a long time to hitch hike back. had a bounce box there plus the Food Mart. When I camped at the Pedlar dam there were the most fireflies i have ever seen.

Paul and I postponed to avoid the t-storms. Planning on June 1st weekend.
Now that I'm retired I can pic and choose when to hike.:D

Leaving now for Roanoke, a little nervous about about the trip. This will be my longest hike I've done in one stretch and the longest solo hike by far. See you next hopefully with a trip report and some pics.

That sounds like a great trip. Best of luck. Take what you think you'll sleep best in, though if you sleep well in either I'd be the one to recommend going lighter. I'll be looking forward to seeing a trip report.

I'm back home had to come off trail with ankle issue. Also had some failures with equipment, spreader bar and pack. Hope to get a report up soon. Ended up coming out just short of US 60. Almost 80 miles over 4 days. Don't let any one tell you Virginia is a flat state, the ups were steep and the downs are steeper.
