There are a few of us that are thinking of putting together a group hang in Maine either Mid Sept or towards the end of Sept. Before we start looking at possible locations, we would like to get a feel for how many people might be interested in attending a hang during this time frame?

AtTroll don't know if you are interested I guess it depends on how far in Maine you live but the is a NEHHA hang on Spt 20-22 in Charlemont Ma that we would love to have you at. As a group though I think we should have one further north for next spring. All the ones we have had have been in Mass.

Wish I could make it but we'll be back in Florida by then. Looking forward to having a couple more next summer during our stay.

September can be rough schedule-wise, but I'd be interested.

(Also mark calendar for 'The Maine Hang' - Brunswick, ME - last weekend of April 2014)

Who's doing the Brunswick hang in 2014? I did not see that thread. That is my home town, born and raised there.

LOL, I Lived in Brunswick for a couple of years while running sonar/radar installation work at BIW shipyard. Wouldn't mind getting back up that way if the timing is right.

I'm in Garland, just below Dover-Foxcroft. North of Bangor.

I've been trying to drag Tinny to a group hang for a couple of years now, one in our own backyard should make it much more tempting.

I haven't seen Tinny in years. I hope he is doing well. We were actually thinking the Dover area. But we first wanted to get a feel for how many would attend.

I started this off this year, amid the tall pines of Thomas Point Beach - hammock paradise. It was too much fun to be a one time event. Hoping to go much bigger next year.

Will post like crazy when that happens - and be hoping for a group hang in the great state of Maine between now and then. :)

I wonder how many folks from Maine might be missing this post because they don't frequent the the NE outing forums? Would it be appropriate to PM some folks from ME or is that too forward?

I think Lamar needs to turn that RV around and head back to Maine. Too hot in Florida anyways. Heck, it is too hot here right now.

Spoken like a true New Englander. Of course NH folks are welcome too. You can even bring your fireworks now.

I go to GardNa' every January for smelt fishing on the Kennebec. We could hang hammocks from shack to shack at Jimmy Worthings smelt camp!

May I make a suggestion and copy this in the "other" hang trip category? Maybe some members from the great white north would attend if the were aware. :shades:

===> I'm certainly up for a Maine hang! Hung at the Desert Of Maine Campground in Freeport this summer, and had a great time! Interested in the 2014 hang also!

When I posted this, I did not realize that the NEHHA was the weekend of Sept 21st, which was stupid on my part. I will not be looking into doing one for Sept most likely. I will have to look at some other dates. The weekends of the 12th and the 19th of Oct are also out for me as well.

If anyone is willing to help or has an suggestions, let me know.

My suggestion would be before the rifle deer season in ME; which is the last weekend in October IIRC.

If we want to look further down the schedule we need a NEHHA hang spot for spring 3014. Winter is already set but a location other than the ones we ha e been using would be a great addition.

I'm thinking I won't be around for that one, the good news is you have 1001 years to plan it.

With that amount of time to plan it, it better be one heck of a gathering. No one can complain that we didn't give sufficient warning. lol

Let's talk about locations and dates. Does anyone have any sites they feel would be good? Any dates in October or November?
