View Full Version : Congaree Swamp Group Hang Pictures

Dameon and I arrived at Congaree State Park South Carolina at 10:00am Friday to reserve the camp site. We walked the Raised Board Walk over the Swamp. Schneiderlein and fulminated arrived and we cooked up some Brats over the fire. The low was in the high 30sF to the low 40sF Not to bad. I left at 2:00pm Saturday and everyone else stayed on for another night, so I am sure that Dameon will have some more pictures to add.

I had a great time. It was the first time I'd been able to go down to near freezing. I made bacon Saturday and Sunday morning. Dameon made the eggs. I believe that a good time was had by all.
Sir Whitewolf and Pawfoot showed up later in the day on saturday.

Yes we definitely all had lots of fun, You didn't miss anything by getting there after Rice left SirWhiteWolf, it was probably for the best actually (kidding). But here are some more pics for Everyones viewing pleasure!

Thanks for the gallery Dameon.
After looking at it, I'm gonna have to get a decent pair of shades to wear. Otherwise, people who see these pictures will think I never smile.

It is just a Samsung NV3 I think, just your basic Point and Shoot digital camera. 7.2 MegaPixels I believe.
That is really fantastic ... if only the world could adapt our togetherness .... know what I mean?
Just cool to see hangers getting together because of a common interest ... hammocks. Love all the pix!

I still laugh when I think about how you blew that marshmallow out after it caught fire :lol:

To my credit, I did have one beer last night, so it's not entirely my fault that I couldn't figure out how to get the stick closer my face. It's a good thing I could reach it with my other hand, otherwise I'd have never gotten to eat it.
Here is the Marshmallow in question, you had to be there to witness the frantic way in which he attempted to extinguish the flames from at least 4 feet away, then celebrated when he at last conquered the flaming offender and was able to enjoy it!

I'm glad to hear the trip went well & I hate I could not go. Hopefully, the next time the Carolina/Georgia area folks get together for a hang I'll be able to make it. I'm booked on the weekend of the Hot Springs hang so I'll miss that one too...

Cool place!!! How many are planning on coming to that hang in Nov.? Any idea?

The hang will be the weekend of October 9th.
