Hey all, trying to put together a 2.5 to 3 day adventure during this time frame. I am hoping a buddy can go with me as well from RI. So....a couple of questions. 1) any advice/guidance on a trail or hike? I prefer a loop but, not against an out and back. 2) anyone interested or available to join?

Thanks all.

Have fun

Western Mass has a bunch of trails including the A.T. And the start of the L.T. There are also a bunch of trails around Mt. Greylock. There are not very many weekend length trips around the capital region. You either have to go north to the area around Lake George or go south to the Catskills. There are a few scattered about though, like Pharaoh Lake.

I'll keep an eye on this. If you hit the AT, I may be game.

Trying to get a friend of mine to knock out a few high peaks in the same time frame.

Still trying to pull something together. Does anyone know of good websites for the area? Something to help design the trip?

Adirondack Journey, if your heading to the dacks.... Sadly, the webmaster died a few years ago, and his family let the site expire..

But, as they say, nothing on the internet ever goes away, you can find it here:

thanks to the library of congress backing up the whole of the internet a few times a month.

Just be warned, the info may be a little off in spots. The last few years have not been kind to us weather wise.

Well, it looks like a change of plans. Heading to Letchworth State park now. Anyone have any advice/experience there?
