I saw the youtube vid on the Hammock Bliss Sky Bed ( http://youtu.be/JykngXcZ2Sw ) and I bought one shortly after watching the vid. Got it in two days and slept in it that night...by accident. Wound up pitching it on my hammock stand and got in it without a pad...then put my 3/4 old thermarest in the pocket, bled some air out of it and got very comfy. It has an amazingly flat lay and your ability to move around in it, get into various postions to get comfortable is kinda limitless. I have a banged up shoulder, so I notice any shoulder squeeze relatively quick and adjust my postion to avoid it. In the Sky Bed, I get zero shoulder squeeze and a very nice flat lay. I actually fell asleep in it while testing it out.
The wife left for work 930pm(night shift) while I was fiddling around with it. I was in it shortly after she left, I woke up at 3am, in need of a pee and was very disoriented....forgot I was in the hammock for a moment..or two. I actually resisted peeing b/c I was so comfortable and suffered another 30 minutes until I couldn't take it anymore.
I think this hammock is a winner in my book. Haven't seen too much about it on the boards when I did a search. I'm surprised. I like it more than my Wilderness Logics Night Owl...I didn't want too, b/c I like that hammock alot...but I do.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Good review. It's weird that it's equipped with 100 inches of climbing rope on each end. Climbing rope is designed to stretch (to absorb the force of a fall). You might end up changing that out.
Otherwise, glad you found your perfect hammock! :D

That small length will not stretch too much, especially since your really aren't using it to tie it to a tree/suspension. I use my slings and toggles and make my tie-in to the hammock where the climbing rope leaves the gathered ends....so not really any stretching happening.
I havent found it a problem yet, but if I do, I'll make some amsteel brummel splices for the gathered ends.

Hell yeah, glad to hear that it is a good product.
I haven't seen much from hammock bliss that can compete with the other brands on here but this one looks like a contender!
I have a hammock bliss no see-um, it's a nice hammock. I use a big agnes bag with pocket for a pad, so it will sleep similar to the one in the vid. Its a large hammock and the side come up high though, so I'm considering the new DD jungle.

I agree with 'Fishfood' - probably not a big issue with a shorter piece of line, though 'non-stretch' lines make setup a bit easier. However, stuff like Amsteel is quite slippery and can need a bit of knot knowledge to rig quickly without extra hardware.
There is also climbing 'static line' which is much lower stretch (used for fixed lines, gear hauling, etc. That 6mm line might be lower stretch than regular climbing rope- hard to tell without asking.

Hammock Bliss is for sure a great company. They have a lot of unique equipment. I really like the Sky Tent 2, and the Sky Bed. I originally posted that you couldn't fit a double hammock in the Sky Tent but since then I have been able too.
I am surprised that the Sky Bed isn't getting as much hype as it should.

Thanks for the review. I own a hammock bliss w/no-see-um net and I love it. Though it is time to replace it since I wore it out.

Just took delivery of the newer sky bed bug free model and really liking it so far. Swapped out the suspension and added an SRL as is usually the case. Surprised there isn't more of a buzz about this hammock?

Ordered one on Monday, got it today. Looks great. I swapped the long climbing rope for my setup from my old hammy, Hammock Bliss long tree straps and buckle setup. I set it up straight away when I got home and on first try it seems it's going to be super comfy. I'm test hanging tonight in the backyard. I'll report in the morning!

Well, the verdict.... Awesome!!! I thought my other hammock was comfortable, but the Sky Bed goes to a whole other level. I set it up and inserted the mat as per the instructions, then just climbed in with my sleeping bag, and it was amazingly flat and stable. The mat didn't move around at all, and it was like sleeping on a ... well ... sky bed. Half way through the night I did notice a bit of leg extension, so I got up and loosened off the hang a bit, I thought it might have been a bit too tight, and that cured it. The rest of the night it was faultless.
So far it's 5 stars for the Hammock Bliss Sky Bed!

I live in Australia and was looking for local suppliers. They ship out of Sydney so that was of interest. Then I checked out all the reviews I could find and was quite impressed with the reports, so I bought one. I already have the bug cocoon by them that I bought for my DIY hammy, so I knew the quality of their gear already.
HB gear is top notch for quality. Not super cheap but hammock gear isn't expensive compared to ground grovelling gear anyway. :)
