As a new member, and a soon-to-be new hammocker, I went out searching for websites with cheap materials. The Joann near me has only a limited array of ripstop, and none i liked (pricey too). On one of my past threads asking for places with cheap fabric (price not quality), and reasonable shipping rates, I was guided to the website http://simplylightdesigns.com/ . The selection is limited, but now I know it is only ran by one person, I can see why. The prices for DIY fabric, Amsteel, and Webbing is amazing. Example, the Amsteel blue (color charcoal black) is $0.22 per foot, same as big name websites.
So, I got curious when i saw the option of custom gear. I requested a simple 2 layer 11' hammock, but my questions grew to more. Within 18 hours, and over night, 25 emails were sent back and forth between me and Jared Baker. All with the answers I needed, and with a friendly attitude.
SOOOO... I decided with ordering a Hammock, tree straps, and 100 Feet of Amsteel. 83$ later, He said it might even ship tonight and he will be getting me a shipping number... O did i mention its FREE SHIPPING?
Simply Light Designs, great service,great prices, fast shipping. Nothing more to say!!

I've made one of these posts about SLD I love the free shipping and how fast it is my last order was place late Saturday night and it got to me on Monday. I also sent him an email about selling cinch buckles alone and he had them on the site the next day. Now I think I'll bug him about more fabric and amsteel colors and see what happens :D

Yep Jared is awesome I have several pieces of his hammock gear here.

Nice, means you should have it by Saturday. I've got somethings in the works with Jared myself. :boggle: Nice to see more SLD stuff hit Ia.
Says it is delivered, but I'm at school. What a shame!

See I was in CR yesterday could have told me and I could have picked it up and tested it out for you, lol.

Yep Jared is awesome, trying out his new 70" wide Coyote Brown Streamliner SL 1.9 with 8" cat cuts and it lays oh so flat. This is even in a 9' hammock.

70? Nice! You have got me thinking... Well, I need to stop thinking and sell some more stuff before I think about buying anything else. It was brought to my attention yesterday that I actually have 12 tarps...not counting my wife and kids tarp. I am waiting to have an "intervention" one day as I walk in the door from work.
Back to the subject... I am glad Jared and SLD are getting more attention lately. I was sure that as solid as his skills are, and the fact that the customer service and ease of contact was so top notch, that SLD was bound to have started a loyal following by now. My custom Streamliner is about to become my goto winter hammock. It is already my goto "napping in the yard" hammock

Yep 70" on the ends and 54" in the middle. Still the same great view as the narrower fabric but allows for a flatter lay yet. I slept in it all night,and man did I sleep good. He has a winner with this one.
