I have a Weight Weenie Micro, and a DL WWM - love them both. However, I began to wonder if the 1.1 oz WWM single layer was sturdy enough for someone like me who is rough on gear.

So I ordered a Hiker Lite - a 9.5 oz polyester taffeta hammock and I requested purple. Shane didn't have purple in stock so he sent me a teal. I couldn't be happier with this hammock. The fabric has zero stretch and feels luxurious against the skin. I'm not sure of the specs on the fabric but I think it's 1.7 or 1.9 oz polyester.

Since all my other hammocks are at least 60" wide, I was hesitant about the 55" width, but this hammock is very comfy.

You can't beat the price - I think it's the best value out there for a gathered-end hammock.

I love my Hiker Lite. I find it easy on the knees, super light and packs down small.

Dang now I'm two BIAS models behind. Still sporting one of the original WW's.

I've been looking at the various BIAS offerings, including the Hiker Lite. Is the Hiker Lite constructed the same as the others? Are the differences between all the various versions (WW, WWM, camper, hiker lite, etc) just the fabric used?

Does the zero stretch of the polyester create any pressure points that are uncomfortable?

Zero pressure points for me which is why I like it so much. I'm 5'10.5" and 140lbs for reference.

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know. I'm only 5' 6" and about the same weight. Do you find the width of the hiker lite (56) adequate or do you wish it was wider? I was thinking of maybe the 60 or 64 if I go with WWM.

I have a Weight Weenie Micro and WWM DL, both in 60" width. The 55" width of the Hiker Lite is plenty wide in my opinion.

I would echo this thought. It's plenty wide. Coming from a DIY 60" hammock it felt narrow at first. Once I've been in it for a few minutes it feels fine. When I go back to my DIY it feels like I'm swimming in extra material. It's a matter of perspective. Like I said, I find the BIAS a more comfortable lay.
