I figure the PIF section has one, and with this section being a work in progress, we'd need one too.

Besides, I have a question, or 2..

If It's collecting dust in your closet or if you're a thread injection guru, let me know what you have or can make available and will swap some gear.

Are we allowed to say "I have X materials available, and can make Y or Z in trade" ?
Or if they specify they want to trade so something specific, say an underquilt, can we say "I have the IX available to make you one"

Thanks!

Oooh that would be cool if we could offer thread injection or mod services for trade. It'd have to be trade only otherwise it's more like doing business. But I know there have been a couple of mods or ideas I've had that I don't have the skill or brain power to do and it'd be great to offer someone a trade to have my ideas brought to life instead of collecting dust in my head.

I guess if offering services was allowed this would be more of a barter forum where we trade items and services.

This question is up for discussion by the mods. Please be patient seeing how it is the weekend.

You guys are fine NH :) We understand things like this take time, and we're happy to be able to test the waters with this WTT idea.

So i have talked with the other mods and we feel that it will be fine to offer DIY services to the trading capabilities. With that said there will be NO SELLING of those services just the bartering.

How about up trades? A trade + cash.
I have a ball of rubber bands + cash to trade for your car.

Mods have already made it clear, trades only.. no moneys

I suggest a rule modification: When custom DIY work is involved, the timeframe of the trade should be extended from 72 hours, to a week. To allow the crafter time to make it to the specs of the other party.

11. Bartering for trades is acceptable, as long as no money is exchanged between members.

Yeah, I must have missed that one. So my ball of rubber bands for your car?

Does is have to be outdoor gear for outdoor gear? Can I trade outdoor gear for something not related to outdoor gear?

Question: do gift cards count as "cash"?

Example: does $20 in dutch bucks, or TATO cash count as tradeable? Not necessarily talking from the "sellers" end, but more from the POV of the "buyer". ( trader, and tradee?)

From the "buyer/tradee" side, purchasing a gift certificate to get around the no purchase/cash requirement would be just that...an effort to circumvent the rules.

"8. Members that abuse the nature of the Trading thread will be removed from participating."

Sounds like a no go to me.

I have 50 posts now and still can't post in the matketplace. Is this something that I need to do from my computer? I currently use tapatalk

I believe you will need to use a browser to create a thread in the Marketplace forums instead of tapatalk.
