Hello everyone.

I'm new to all of this, but I'm just wondering whether there is any interest in Vancouver hammockers getting together this summer. This could mean a hike and camp, dayhike, or just a gathering at a local park.

Just putting it out there.

Cheers!

Andy

I'd love to join, but I'm in Calgary and anytime I visit your wonderful province it's typically with my bikes, my hammock, and plans to spend as much time as possible on the bike.
If there was something going on in the interior though I would certainly think about a weekend trip down.

I live in Surrey, but do most of my hammock camping overnights around Lake Osoyoos during the Summer. I'd be up for a meetup in the Lower Mainland.

Very cool. Thanks for the responses! Now that I know there is interest, we'll think something up sometime. Maybe a camp hangout would be good. Site suggestions?

Check out Club Tread forum for ideas of campsites. There is great discussion of areas and trails on there.

August works for me as I will be on the mother continent. Im in Australia the rest of the time.:D

I'm south of Seattle. I have never been to Canada, but it's on the list of places to visit, especially while I'm out here so close. I'll watch for details.

How 'bout meeting half way - say Mt. Baker?

Mt Baker is good for Canadians too, even with the border crossing. Sumas or Lynden is a less crowded border crossing. Nice campsites on the North Fork Nooksack

Vancouver has bad traffic. If it's in Canada, lets keep it to the south or east please. Allouette Lake? Remote Chilliwack Lake?

I'm a local and would love to have a local get together. Or several.
Chilliwack Lake and surrounding environs are also fantastic locales. Otherwise Harrison and associated forestry areas are also very nice.

Either of those would be wicked, Alouette or stave are beaut as well. Lets see if other hands go up.
