How about an introduction area where people can tell everybody a little about themselves like how they started this, other hobbies, how long they have been doing this, occupation, etc?
It kind of helps top know who you are talking to some time.

Introduction threads are welcome.
We do try to keep the forums well-focused on Hammock related topics, though. There are many general discussion forums on the internet, and there are many topic-focused ones that have lost their focus. Because we don't want that to happen here, we think it's preferable to stick with what we know best - Hammocks.
We do have an off-topic forum, for all donating members. A simple $10/year donation (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/payments.php) to the forum (used to cover operating expenses) gives everyone access to that.

There's already a place for that in the profile although not everyone uses it.
