Ok here is my trip report for my almost 200 mile section I did following the Speers Hot Springs Hang a month or so ago. I had soo much fun on this one. It was hard to get off of the trail but I missed my family too.

I learned many things on this trip. Even though I got excellent advice from NEST who is a hitchiking pro, I SUCK at hitchhiking! LOL. That was how I had to get back to Hot Springs and wow was I NOT good at it. I did a lot more walking than I wanted to for that part...Oh well.

I just put some pictures into a photobucket slide show. If anyone wants more detail let me know. I could not find my Stick pic before the trip so I was VERY sad about that. Anyway, here you go.

great pics, thanks!

I liked seeing the view of the spot where Ed's hangs are, 'cause it looks like I'll be going to the June one with Mrs Grizz and the youngest. I expect we'll do some hiking.

That weekend you think about me on these cool trails, maybe canoeing or rafting or tubing in that river, and I'll think about you picking ticks up North <grin>

Really nice pics! That's a beautiful hike. I hiked a portion of that about 8 years ago. It was really interesting to find out about the old hotel on Roan. Also, the rhodadendrum up there was spectacular!

Thanks everyone. I DID have a blast. The AT is a very addicting place to be!

Nice trip! How did you use the ramps?

The ramps were a great little find. I mostly just pulled some up as I walked past them and ate them all. I soon found that I liked the more mild flavor of just the leaves better so I just snacked on them. Not long after that I had to give them a rest because they were beginning to give me a slight upset stomach. I had eaten alot by then though so it was no wonder. LOL.

Grizz, I was really hoping to get to see you on the northern hang since I did not get to talk to you much at Mt Rogers. That winter hang had sooo many people! F U N. Anyway, I am glad you will be out camping at least. Bring on the ticks!
