I got the ENO catalog in the mail the other day and saw the underbelly...

so I decided to take an extra singlenest along with me on the Tuscarora Trail last night and see how that would work as an underbelly. I was able to stuff both a singlenest and doublenest into the doublenest pouch. I added about 8in of cord to the singlenest and hung it under the double. I was able to put all my gear in the single and have everything within arms reach. It was so nice that I didn't mind carrying the extra weight :D I wasn't touching the single and the single was off the ground. Worked very well. My single w/o biners weighs 14oz and the underbelly in the catalog is 12oz. Real close. Anyways, if you've got an extra single laying around, it makes a good underbelly gear holder.

Seems like it would be great to have it set up that way, everthing right in arms reach, and it doesn't increase the size of your camp at all.

Good use of items you already have on hand :)

Great idea, did you just slide the biner out and replace with cord?

Once I get rid of the stupid slapstraps and switch over to a polypro cinch buckle setup, I'm going to try to hang a single under my double so that my 9yo son can sleep below me. We'll see if I can keep him off the ground w/o having to set my hammock up too high in the air...

yep.....just paracord with a couple loops in it so that I could adjust how far it hung below me

I plan on picking up a cheaper (about $20) ultralight hammock from Army Navy to do the same thing. Now I just need to actually get out and use all the stuff that I keep buying!

What about putting it right under the double as a kind of uq? could you maybe put a pad under there for some insulation?
