I'm going somewhere, open to suggestions if someone is interested!
I'm crazy busy right now, so I can't really get away, but Texoma is nice and not too far.
Just recently moved to the Dallas area. Would love a trip report. Actively looking for places to go. Having come from michigan where I couldn't drive 20 minutes without finding a place to pull off and camp out for the night this is very different to have to actually go looking.
ny700, you aware of the Cross Timbers trail up along Lake Texoma?
And "the pines" up in LBJ national grasslands? (just north of Decatur)
How about Tyler state park? Great place
All within 2 hours (whoops...you said 20 minutes....)
Hey 2 hours isnt great but doable for a weekend
I just went to Cross Timbers this past weekend. Great trail, and not very busy. Right on the lake and it only takes about 1hr to get there. Many places to hang.
