Scratch my previous post. Decided to buy from HF store since I only need a few.
I'd like to get in the list to buy some of the ones that don't get paid for if possible.
Thanks,
Terrell
No worries on no purple, I'll take extra Orange if that's ok, no worries if too late.
Thanks
Gunner, it makes no matter to me. I prefer toned down colors for however many I put down. 20 I think?? I am not big on like, pastels and the like. More base colors but I am not picky at all. Most of my gear is earth tone or camo now. (not really big on "camo" just got a good deal on some).
I am in the middle of some major personal stuff and not able t check here as often as I should. When you are ready for payment just PM me and I will send it to you. I think PM's show up on my regular email and ding my phone.
Thanks man.
Just got word back from binner company POC that they have run out of Purple binners. It will at least 2-3 months before they get any more in.
They recommend and I agree that we should substitute Blue for the Purple. If it was just me I would have gone ahead and placed the order but as this is a group buy I wanted to let all of you know what is happening.
Please let me know what you guys want to do so I can get the order placed.
In reviewing the spreadsheet I don't see that anyone ordered just Purple Binners.
fine by me, whatever is easier, blue for purple is ok,,or better yet if you can just make all 40 orange, thats alot easier, thanks for the heads up.

Not sure if I had purple on the list, but blue is good if I did.
Any color for Purple is fine - mix it up, make them all orange or black, whatever you want. Surprise me. :)

I did order purple, but can't access the spread sheet to see which other colors I chose. I would prefer not to double up on blue. Orange would be good if I didn't pick that already. Basically pick any color I didn't pick already. Still not engraved. Thanks so much.

I think I ordered assorted - so any color is fine with me.
I can also pay in advance if it will help.

Is there a way to post it read only, or where only you have rights to edit? Wait, I guess that is read-only as well. Anyway just a thought.
Blue is fine BTW.

I have made the changes as requested so far. I will place the order tomorrow AM so if you have any change requests, please post them or PM me.
As I stated before, if there are any unclaimed binners, I will let those of you who are participating in the group buy have first go at them and then open it up to everyone else on the forum.

Or just update the spreadsheet with final costs and post the link again. I'll pay up front as soon as the costs are finalized.
No problem paying up front myself, just let me know the total.
I can shell out pre-order as well.
Don't seem to be able to access the SS atm. Sure its on my end :tonguesmilie:

As stated before, once the deadline was reached, I took the spreadsheet off line to keep folks from going in and changing the figures.
If it helps, gunner, you can set the permissions for the spreadsheet to read only. Then, I suppose, folks could verify their own orders, without changing them.

The order has just been placed. Might have by end of next week. I will take and post pictures of what all those binners look like before I start to separate them to mail out.
Now just have to see what this hurricane will do. Suppose to be here along NC coast in next day or two. Spent AM with the Terminator in backyard putting stuff away.

Could make for an interesting 4th weekend here in Virginia Beach....
Looks like God is sending his own Fireworks for the 4th this year. Stay safe y'all.
Seems like I might have ordered a couple of purple for my wife? If so blue works for me.
Thanks

stay safe Gunner. Another reason I left Jacksonville. The wind blows out there too hard sometimes. Last storm I was there for was Bertha and Fran. If you all get hit we here in Sanford will get some wind and rain but not much. Hope ya'll fair well through it.

For those who may be wondering, The community Gunner 76 and Terminator live in is still showing power outages. They had the eye of Category 2 hurricane Arthur pass right over them at around 11PM last night. I imagine they have been cleaning up today.
Duke Energy estimates power to be restored to this area by 10 PM tonight.

07-05-2014, 11:24
We are alive and well. We did loose power ( I slept thru the storm so I do not know what time it happen ). I set up our generator which ran for 5 minutes before shutting down. A neighbor who is good with mechanical things came over but could not get it to run. I had to go to work and got back home about 10 PM. Wife said power came back on about 30 minutes before I got home.
Appears we only suffered cosmetic damage. A shed door blew off, broken tree branches ect. The major damage was to my green bean trellis in my garden and a large pecan tree which forms the center of my back yard hammock hanging area. The tree broke in two about 20 feet up. However this is normal for this tree as it has suffered major damage from every hurricane we have had here and it always comes back. On the bright side, I will have some more pecan wood for my wood smoker and I have some brisket and pork ribs in the freezer.

Glad to hear y'all are OK, and suffered no major damage. Of course, I would consider any damage to my hanging area as major damage. Great attitude you're showing about the loss of the pecan tree. I hope it comes back strong.

Great attitude you're showing about the loss of the pecan tree
Since it has suffered some sort of damage every hurricane, from some limbs breaking to splitting in two all the way to the ground ( I cut it off at ground level and it grew back ) I would be surprised if it did not have any damage. None of my other Pecan trees have problems, just this one.
Have not had a chance to clean yard or much else. Have been working my rear off as this is prime tourist season where I am and the boss said I can work as many hours as I want right now ( love that OT ). Wife and I work different shifts so lately we have not seen much of each other; other than she is asleep when I get home and I am asleep when she gets up to leave for work. Hoping to get a day off together this week so we can go do something together.
Well...you could always try to set some time aside to count micro-biners together.

Got bill from vendor
ordered 2,500 binners at 0.71 each
for $1,775.00 + $62 shipping for total of $1,837.00 or $0.7348 per binner.
by my calculations if each binner weights 1/10 of an ounce then 160 binners weigh a pound and 2,500 binners will weigh about 15.6 pounds.
They sent me a picture of the engraved binner for approval which I approved and they have moved the order to the production queue. They will notify me me when the order ships. I expect that it will ship this week.
Never did get answer to how many binners would we have to order to get the price down to 1 cent per binner.
I will start sending out request for payment this week to those who order at least 50 binner and or said to go ahead and bill them.
By my calculations if each binner weighs 1/10 of an ounce, then 160 binners weigh a pound and 2,500 binners weigh 15.6 pounds.
I ended up ordering 186 binners because of the price break ( 86 more than I originally planned to but $$$ wise about the same as I had planned to spend ). Two others ordered 100 binners each.
Question I have is would the group be interested in doing this again next year ?

Glad to hear that you are safe. I ordered more than I planned, but spent the same. I take things as they come so we'll see when next year rolls around if I have a need for more biners or if they have a really cool and must have engraving.
Thats a lot of biners. I don't mind paying in advance either.

Good idea! The ones labelled "500 KG" from LazrDesigns (http://www.lazerdesigns.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=01&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CLOAD) are strong enough to hang from, IMO. I'd get a bunch of red and green ones to mark head and foot of my hammocks.

WV...I contacted the company and asked if they could send me a couple to test. Good eyes, I missed the load rating on that one.

Thanks for the info. I bought 25 of these a couple of years ago, and haven't had problems so far, but I note that LazrDesigns may say the manufacturer has printed the load limit on the reverse side, but they are careful not to claim any load limit in their advertising. Perhaps these are not the best choice for a group buy. Still, Treklight and other hammock companies have felt comfortable selling them.
A while back, someone was selling Metolius FS Mini Wiregate Carabiners (http://www.metoliusclimbing.com/fs_mini_carabiner.html) for $5 or less, and I picked up 4 of them. The gates look pretty rugged, and the 'biners are rated for climbing. They weigh 25.1 g., which is only 1 g. more than the LazrDesigns 'bimer. "You pays your money, and you takes your choice." If I start selling hammocks, I'll probably include the Metolius 'biners (and pass the price difference along to the buyer), but for my own use (and trusting friends) I keep with LazrDesigns because they are less than half the price.
Mad Goat lists some other candidates in this thread (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?95389-a-lighter-biner-19g).

LazrDesigns said they will send me a couple of the binners at no charge. Told them there was interest in a group buy on them but I wanted to test them the way a hammock hanger would use them first to find out if they would hold up.

I have never used these particular carabiners, but in general the "wire gate" design is more reliable. This was not true many years ago but today SS "wire gate" with aluminum "binder" is considered very reliable, "screw lock" if there is a lot of erratic movement like in certain climbing applications. But those internal spring types are something I avoid. I am not an expert, or a rock/mountain climber just an enthusiastic outdoors person.

What I have done in the past for human load bearing carabiners is order about 4-10 or more of these Camp nano 23, for about $4.95 each with free shipping. Share order with a few friends living near by. Or after Thanksgiving no minimum shipping. Also Black Diamond etc.
Right now Nano 23 is on sale for $5.55 with free shipping for $49 and above at backcountrygear, but better deals are occasionally available. 23 grams, or 0.8 oz this is one of lowest weight that a gives about 8-10x protection factor to hang typical person from. i.e. you could theoretically repel down a steep hill with our hammock and suspension as rope using nano "biner" if a wildfire was chasing you.:scared:

I'd love to see a group buy on something like the Inova/Spyderco (http://www.lazerdesigns.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=01&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GS007) set with the HF name and logo on them.

Was wondering if such a large order might be a problem. .

Here is the latest update.
It appears we did break something with our order.
The supplier is short 345 Blue blank ( not engraved ) binners, ( I ordered 545 Blue blank ) . It appears it will be some time ( months maybe...still trying to get an answer to this part) before they can get any more in from their supplier.
I am going to ask them to replace with assorted colors to make up difference and see if I can get them to reduce the shipping or something. As there will not be enough Blue Blank binners to go around, I will fill the orders in the order they were received per the spreadsheet. Once the Blue blank binners are gone I will offer the rest of the folks their choice of what is left on the uncommitted colors.
I will have to go thru the spread sheet to look at how far the Blue binners will go. If you had your heart set on Blue and it ends up I don't have enough to fill your requests and you want to drop out I understand and will not hold it against you. I am sure that the folks who missed getting in on this group buy will take whats left.
I ordered a few blank blues ones for myself ( in addition to the engraved ones ) but I am throwing them back into the pot to help out.
I apologize for the screw up.
My wife and I have tomorrow off ( first time in about a month our days off are the same ) and we will be taking a road trip up to Durham NC area tomorrow to visit parents and visit REI and do some shopping.
Nobody blames you. :) You can throw my blues into the pot if it helps, and if I even ordered any.

Update to the update.
from the supplier
Greg, So sorry for the hassle, I understand it stinks. When inventory gets that low sometimes there are counts that are off.
Next shipment is last quarter of this year, that’s all I know for now, I will know more later this month.
I will credit shipping cost around $40 for the trouble.
It should ship out tomorrow for you!
I know,,,take pictures of what 2,500 binners look like.

not sure if I missed this. If not I'll take 20. If I did, put my on the list as dibbs for the first who welches and doesn't pay.
thanks
I love blue, but I joined late, so I have no hopes :-) one or two would be great. The rest can be replaced with grey (the color that wasn't in the spreadsheet).
I foresee a blue group buy next year :-)
Second thought: why not putting the spreadsheet back online and have us change our orders to come to the right amount of blue? That way it all might solve itself...

writing from a beach in Costa Rica.
I wish....actually I live on the coast in NC and have salt marsh at the rear of my property. I have never been to the very rear of my property as I don't feel line like fighting the mud and marsh grass....had a neighbors kid try to jump across one of the small creeks running thru the marsh and got stuck in the mud up to his waist. Was worried about getting stuck myself trying to get him out. Main problem was it was 5 degrees out and I was worried he might freeze to death. Got him out and took him to parents house across street and told parents to give him warm bath now as he was muddy and very cold. Found out later kid thought creek was a concrete lined ditch; he was about 6 years old.
Lucky kid, could have been a tragedy had the tide came in! I hope his parents were appreciative.
gunner76
07-20-2014, 21:42
Lucky for him it was low tide. But then if had been high tide he might not have tried to jump the creek.
...parents were appreciative.
they were.
I know what you mean about the salt marshes gunner.
When I was with the FD we had to launch an inflatable to get to a kid who had drove a jet ski high and dry onto a mud shoal with the tide dropping and daylight fading.
Good times. That salt marsh mud can be like quicksand. Once you sink in you almost need a crane to pull you out.
better sell those folks one of the extra biners and tell them to clip their kid on to something!

Good news....I will let you know if there are any unclaimed binners.
Bad news....Bunch of people in line ahead of you.
May have to do another group buy for the people who missed the this one. Will have to wait a few months as we wiped them out on blue and they are out of purple and will not have any more in for several months.
I only counted about 1000 in that photo...where are the other boxes?
Check earlier post where I said they were crunchy and did not have much taste to them
You did count them all... make sure it's all right..... right?
Will be doing that tomorrow. I have a rare two days off in a row.
Also have to contact them as it appears they did not adjust the shipping cost and send some samples of a diffferent binner were not in the box. The shipping cost is not a big deal as it only changes the cost per binner by about $0.01 but still, they agreed to adjust the shipping cost so they should do so.

Suppliers specs says they weigh 1/10 of an ounce and according to my scale they are right. so 10 of the binners should weigh in at 1 ounce. By my scale, 10 binners weighs in at 1.1 ounces
Good news....I will let you know if there are any unclaimed binners.
Bad news....Bunch of people in line ahead of you.
No biggie. I was just thinking of a few not a bunch. But I would be for a bunch if u did another one.
Whats the weight rating? Can they be used for ridgeline biner?

Whats the weight rating?
Not available. These binner's are not designed to be used to hang your hammock. They are great for tarp ridge lines, attaching UQs to hammock and stuff like that,
Can they be used for ridgeline biner
Yes, That is one of the things I use them for.
I was just thinking of a few not a bunch. But I would be for a bunch if u did another one.
Once I get the current request taken care of ( I am taking a break from packaging them, its a PITA, I have 4 orders packaged in 3 different size packages so far ), I will contact the folks that have requested any left overs in the order they asked.
Also, like I said, we may have to repeat the group buy in a few months when the supplier has had a chance to restock.

Well Gunner if you want my opinion , i say that next time you make things alot easier on yourself, most people dont realize just how much work your gonna have done by the time this is over.
Suggestion - biner group buy, - all orders are for assorted only, no engraving and all orders go out in a flate rate padded envelope at $5.50 an order for shipping,, then all you have to do is look at the spreadsheet, throw the number in the envelope and print label-- DONE, if nobody likes it this way then they can run it next time!
It seems to me that you took on alot of extra work and i wish i was closer so that i could help but i really do apreciate it and think you should make it alot easier on yourself next time.
But this is just my opinion,, now where's my biners !:tongueup::tongueup::tongueup::tongueup ::tongueup::tongueup::tongueup::boggle::boggle::bo ggle::boggle::boggle::boggle:

There's no reason you can't do this now.. I mean.. I ordered 30 Carabiners.. at .71 each = $21.30 + $5.50 Shipping = $26.80 + 3% for paypal = $27.60 Jumps it up to $.92 per carabiner.. and honestly.. I'm 100% ok with that.
Compared to the HF store.. 15 (pairs) of Carabiners would cost me $37.50.. plus $11.30 in shipping = $1.62 each
Arrowhead: $56.85 before shipping.. $1.90 each
etc etc..
So honestly.. I doubt anyone is going to scream bloody murder if you simplify your life and slap each order in a USPS priority box, or flat rate envelope and ship them. It's a one size fits all solution, the shipping materials are free to you, and it includes tracking AND insurance as a "Cover your own butt" policy.

Very cool! 10 binders at 31 grams! Your photos gave me flashbacks of working in the snack bar in High School counting bags of candy for inventory. Convinced me that retail would not a great career for me. Also waking up at 5 am to clean out pig pens not great. Hammock hanging, eating candy and pork, great!
Thanks for all your hard work on this project.

now where's my binersSpread out on my work table :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
One of the problems is that I only expected to get request for a few hundred binners, not 2.5K.
I agree next time ( if there is a next time ) that going with a flat rate box is good idea. But for now I still have a case plus of padded mailers I have left over from a mail order business I use to have. Got these mailers for a very low price and can ship out many of the orders in them. So using them helps me to get rid of them as they are just taking up room in a closet. However I am using the small priority flat mail box for some of the orders that will not fit into the padded mailer.

Checked the credit card and they did adjust the shipping cost so the cost per binnerw/shipping worked out to $0.73 each to my door. I am working on sorting thru the first ten orders ( we had just under 80 folks place orders ). I am taking my time to make sure I don't screw up the count and engrave or not engraved and what size package will they fit in for the lowest mailing cost.
The supplier did not include some of the http://www.lazerdesigns.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=01&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CLOAD binners they said they would so I have contacted them about it. Told them that I needed to test them to make sure they would work the way us hangers would use them and as I weigh in at 275 lbs I figure I would be good test candidate. Also asked for a few samples of the new pewter colored micro binners to see what the color actually looks like. If I can get this 3" binner and it holds up, I will propose a group buy on these. These cost more and even if we got 500, the cost would be around $2.43 each plus shipping.
Told them that there is interest in doing another group buy ( we have had enough people getting on the waiting list for unclaimed binners IMO to justify another group buy) on the micro binners but we would need to wait to give teh supplier a chance to restock on the blues and purples. There might also be a group buy in future for the 3" biiner if I can get some to test and they hold up.
While I was at it I also requested a donation for some raffle items for a group hang.
Are these the ones available in the store?

I am working on getting the first 10 orders out. Taking longer than I thought it would ( isn't that always the case ) getting the formulas on my spreadsheet to calculate everything properly.
Process: Count out different number and color of binners, recount. recount again. Figure out if I can ship in padded mailer or flat rate box. Calculate postage for padded mailers. Enter cost of everything on spreadsheet and let it calculated total cost of binners plus s&H. PM person with cost. Wait for payment to come thru, then mail package.
I am processing the orders in the order you signed up on the spreadsheet.

Excellent idea but I would have to do a bunch of test weighing of different colors and combinations ect to make sure that the 1.1 ounce per 10 binners is 100% accurate to be comfortable with the weight method.
I will stick to hand counting for now.

If the original group buy was only the few hundred I expected it to be then it would have not been a problem.
I am going on the order folks signed up for the binners, so those at the top of the list who requested blue will get what they requested until I run out of blues and then I will have to substitute the other colors. As we did not get purple either I am having to substitute different colors for that too ( It's impacting me too as I wanted some purple ones too )
If there is a next time, I agree with going assorted as the only choice. But that will be a few months from now as supplier has to get blues and purples back in stock. If someone else wants to do another group buy then by all means go for it.
I am looking at anther item for a group buy but until I have more info on if we can get better pricing on the item I will not say anymore at this time.

Yes, I am going by the order you signed up on the spreadsheet. Have not gotten to yours yet. At the rate I am going it will be a few days before I get to yours. Will be mailing out several packages tomorrow. My procedure is to write ( in my case its more of a scribble) user's name on mailer, count out binners several times, put binners in mailer, weigh mailer for postage calculations as I can print postage stamps from my computer, enter information onto master spread sheet and let it calculate totals,
PM person with payment info, enter date I PM'ed person on spread sheet, wait for notification of payment, once I have notification of payment...print address label and print stamp, finish preparing package and mail, worry if person got package. Donig got his first as he was the first person to pay. I also want to thank him as he was a big help in updating the spread sheet for many of the folks who were having problems accessing it. Many times I went to update the spread sheet for someone who posted they could not access it only to find Donig had already added the person.:)
Though I suppose Gary at readystrap.com could provide a technical load testing report
I have seen videos of how Gary tests stuff. Scary. :scared: As I weigh 275 lbs I believe I can give the test binners a good work out.

Box was fun to shake - I'm sure the PO enjoyed it. Looked like you could get at least 250 in the small flat rate box.
Thanks for putting this all together.

Total of 75 members placed orders
Total number of binners ordered 2,500

You are on the SS, just have got to you yet. Arm has been hurting more than usual past couple of days which has really slowed things down. Had to leave work early today, came home and took some high powered happy pills, went to sleep for a few hours. Got up to eat and check email. Going back to sleep in a few minutes.
I am sure we will do another group buy but it will have to be in few months to give supplier a chance to restock as they were out of purple and we wiped out their stock of blue binners.
How many of these do you have left?
So far every one I have sent request for payment has paid so I don't think there will be any left overs and I know there are a bunch of members waiting in the background for a chance to get any unclaimed binners. As I stated before, if there are any left over they will offered on a first come first serve basis by the date you posted you were interested in any unclaimed binners.
I should be around # 30

Yours will be in the next group to be worked on. Have to finish up the second batch first. Looking at sometime this weekend.
I would like to be in the next batch for ordering as well please.
What I will do is make spreadsheet with all the names of those who missed getting in on this group buy. If and when I do another group buy I will contact you via PM and let you know. As the vendor is out of two colors ( purple and blue ) and their telling me they were not planning to get any more purples in until last quarter of year ( no idea about blues ) best I can do is ask them to let me know when they are back in stock.
Link to spread sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rhqErP_gJSr_uExavo5mL0fk2MbI5Fi87AWj9Dta3T0/edit?usp=sharing.
Putting your name on this spread sheet does not guarantee that there will be another group buy and or that you will get any binners at this point. If there is another group buy then I can use it to contact you via PM to let you know that we are doing another group buy. When I get a change after this group buy is completed I will go thru and add all of those who expressed interest in the buy in the order they posted or PM'd me.

Gunner,
Thank you for this effort, just make it easier for yourself next run. If anyone need specific color, they can always direct order from the vendor. Most of us are interested in volume saving, shift the overhead burden to you is not fair. No hurry, X'mas is 2 seasons away.

If I do another group buy, assorted colors will probably be the only option. Still have to finish up this group buy first and then sit down and revue what went right and what went wrong for next time.
If this had stayed at the numbers I thought it would reach when I started ( 200 to 300 binners ) then I could have had everything finished and shipped out already.

As some of you know I have bone spurs in my neck that has been causing me lots of pain past 6 months. Had low level steroid pills ( no help ), X-rays that even physical therapist could see bone spurs and PT for 6 weeks ( no help and therapist said trying to work on my neck was like wrestling with an alligator ), got MRI ( had to go back as first time I did not have strong enough pain meds and I could only lay flat for about 60 seconds in MEI before I have to bail out due to pain. Got stronger pain meds and even then I had to take double dosage of the meds to make it thru the MRI session and was getting ready to tell them to stop due to pain when they said they were done ( 45 minutes ). Then got series of steroid shots in neck ( shots reduced pain from constant knife like stabbing pain to extreme pull muscle pain that does not go away ), saw neck surgeon who said I am a candidate for surgery ( and there are some risks involved ) but has sent me back for several more months of PT and then I meet with surgeon again and will see if PT has helped or not and if not he will refer me to a neck surgeon at Duke U Hospital as the local hospital can not do surgery due to other medical issues I have. In meantime I have the strongest pain killers they can prescribe and I can only take it at night after work or on my days off. Once I take it I am not much good for anything ( like getting binner orders together). I can only sleep in a sitting up position in bed as I can not lay flat on my back or on my sides. My wife has told me that on several occasions I have woke her up at night cussing as I ended up in a position that cased some pain. Told her I don't remember doing so but I believe her. So when people ask .... how has your day been, I ask them...how much time do you have. Fortunately, the boss and others where I am working at are very understanding when I tell them I have to take a Tylenol break or I can not pick up something due to pain in arm some days. Unfortunately every one knows I carry an industrial size bottle of Tylenol and know who to go to bum a couple.

Gunner,
I have always called Tylenol the non pain relieving NSAID. It does nothing for me and high doses ain't good for your liver.
Although it had some negative press some years ago, I took Celebrex for nearly a year with no ill effects. It was far more effective on my back pain than OTC pain relievers. Perhaps it could help you.
BTW, cussing at the Terminator in the middle of the night is probably not a wise thing IMO!

Since I am on blood thinners, I am limited on some of the pain killers I can take.

How 'bout Jack Daniels?

How 'bout Jack Daniels?
I am more of a beer drinker, I mean I was a beer drinker. Alcohol interferes with the blood thinners and so does Ibuprofen ( which I found more effective than Tylenol) In the past year I have had maybe 3 beers and those have been when the wife is having one and I have a sip or two or three of hers. Just not the same.
I also have had 2 or 3 beers in the last hour.

I have run out of blue binners. mmaiolo81 got the last 2 ( of the 10 he or she ordered ). This means that anyone after him/her who ordered blue binners will get different colors.
I received my biners, thank you Gunner, and I will keep you in my prayers for your neck to get better, so you don't need surgery. Keep at the PT. Be careful with the ibuprofen, it can cause ulcers. Always take with food. I had a co-worker who was medivaced out of Iraq for bleeding ulcers, and he almost died. It was from ibuprofen.

Big shout out to Gunner. My wife called me at work and said, "You got bling in the mail today." Very pleased. What an effort on your part, one for which I am very thankful. You have added to my wealth of goodies. Again, thanks so much for this great contribution to the group and my inventory of bling.

. Be careful with the ibuprofen, it can cause ulcers.
I don't take it anymore as it does not play well with the blood thinners I am on. Before the blood thinners I never has any problems with it. Tylenol is the only OTC pain killer I am allowed to take now and while it does help, it only takes the edge off the pain. When I tell the folks at work I have to take a Tylenol break they know I am in pain.
Now Tylenol 3 ( Tylenol with codeine ) is something else. Doctor prescribed it after I got hit by a pickup truck and broke some bones. Makes me itch like crazy, had to take high dosage of benadryl (sp ?) to stop the itching. Told doctor I stopped taking it after 3 days because I was starting to like the stuff, would rather put up with pain.

Thaks gunner76! Mine arrived the other day, just in time for a trip I have this weekend. I appreciate what you've done, especially when not at 100% physically.
For future Notice: Order more than you think you need.. I ran out of 30 in a week

If I'm not in the shipping line yet, I'm perfectly fine waiting. Tomorrow after work I leave for my 85 mile walk through the trees. I'll probably be out of cell/net contact most of that time, so I wouldn't be able to arrange payment until I return the following week. Or if you send an invoice, I'll just settle up when I get home

Micro binners....1,000 and 1 uses.
I got biners that open bottles,
And I got biners that hold my keys,
I got biners that when you turn ‘em right, they help me watch TV.
I got biners that open pickle jars,
And biners that come with hair,
I got biners that hang my other biners -
I always come prepared.
Apologies to http://hoodwinked.wikia.com/wiki/Be_Prepared
But only if they come with built in LED lights
Got those 1,000 lbs capacity binners in the mail today. Have to do testing although WV said he has used them with out any problems,
Got mine today (sans LED lights). Awesome! Thanks, gunner76!
I'm totally fired up for the Big Biner order that someone on double-secret probation will be coordinating soon! How how did you like those 1,000 lb carabiners? Got a link to them like for the micro-biners?

So far they have been holding up ok. Have no idea when the person who PM'd me about doing a group buy on these plans to do so. I am not going to even worry about it until I get this group buy completed.
Link to 1,100 lb capacity binner at Lazer Designs... http://www.lazerdesigns.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=01&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CLOAD.
I will have them at the Grayson Hang and the Hunger Hang if anyone wants to get a better look at them.
I had thought about doing a group buy on Nite Ize # 2 plastic Binners (http://www.niteize.com/product/S-Biner-Plastic.asp) . I did find a source for Nite Ize # 2 plastic binners (http://www.zbattery.com/Nite-Ize-S-Biner-Plastic-2-Black-Small?sc=10&category=106892 ) and talked to them about getting better pricing than what they had posted ($1.05 for 6+ plus s&h) but they could or would not come down enough IMO to make a group buy worth the effort. Hint... if you have access to a military Exchange ( I know the Marine Corps Exchanges stock them, don't know if the Navy or Army/AF do ), you can get them at a very good price.
I have Sunday off so I hope to get a bunch of the orders ready for shipping.

I keep telling my wife that but when I do she starts laughing and tells me I the old man now. At least the grand kids like me.

They love you because you give them biners...
Package received, all looks good. I also noticed that some gates are tougher than others...blue seems to have more tough ones, no problem though I may designate the tough ones for uses that I don't need to open often.
THANKS GUNNER!!!!

You are welcome. I am slowly making progress getting the package ready. Constantly getting PM's asking if there are any extra binners ( don't think there will be ). I do believe there will another group buy in the future

Boo, I really wanted blue, as that's my favorite color. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to buy some on my own.

Please forgive me if I am being redundant but was someone from Germany or another country in Europe been looking into a group buy of these Edelrid Aranya Accessory Krabiners: Micro 3's typically range in weight from 7-13 grams and rated at 200 kg (440 lbs) or more (years ago were rated at 650 kgs but I guess the German's realized that was too optimistic). At about 3-4 British pounds or 3,60 EUR that comes out to around $6 US dollars retail so about the same price as a typical 23 gram climbing rated carabiner (5629 lbs or 25kN) but at 1/3 or 1/2 the weight and smaller. Compared to a Dutch clip these are cheaper, more versatile and rated for a heavier load. Any of these items can be put in parallel to almost double the load rating obviously.
So as far I as could determine over the years the #1 problems were the availability in N.A. (especially USA) and the non-wholesale (aka retail) cost. So my idea is make a group buy of 200 or more but I don't live in Germany and am not fluent in German or Dutch etc. Someone from Ireland, UK or Netherlands etc may be equally as successful. Perhaps there IS an American distributor but I am not aware of one. So if a kindly person in the UK or EU etc got a great deal on these and bulk shipped them to one or more folks in the USA we could re-distribute them here, provided it was not easier to just buy them from an wholesale distributor in N.A. And I know some people will never hang from anything rated for anything less than 1000 pounds so please completely ignore this comment or use them to hang you liter bottle of water from or BP from a tree with or whatever. Please don't say nasty things about Dutch and his clips because they are only rated at 300 lbs, I have purchased and used several pairs of them and really like them but often prefer more multi use gear to assist in going even more UL by means of such multi-use methods, heck if you never trained or worked with SF you will never understand so never mind.

I have most of the remaining orders packaged and hope to have all of them packaged by Sunday. Then I just have to weigh them to calculate postage, enter postage cost on spread sheet, get grand total and send emails with totals and where to send $$. As many of us ( including me ) ordered purple which they did not have and blue which they did not have enough of, I am having to substitute different colors to make up the difference. Once I get your payment via Paypal ( or you can send a check or MO) I print up the shipping label and stamp and ship. I hope to have sent out all the requests for payment by Wed. Please be sure to include your user name when paying so I know who sent the money.
I know there was talk about just shipping via Priority Mail flat rate shipping but so far I have only had to use the small flat rate box about 3 times, the rest of the orders I have been able to use the excess padded mailers I have and this has saved everyone one several $$ on shipping.
It does not look like there will be any left over binners at this point and with the number of requests for binners still coming in via PM, I will probably end up having to do another group buy later in the year when the supplier gets purples and blues back in stock. I think the next group buy will limited to assorted colors to make it easier on me.
Much credit to you, Gunner. You've gone above and beyond.
Stop PMing Mr. Gunner, folks! There ain't no more biners!

Update. If you have been waiting for me to send a PM with the amount due, please check your inbox for PM. Also several people I tried to PM have full mailboxes and need to delete some old msgs.
I have PM'd everyone at this point. If you have not gotten at PM, please check to see if your mailbox folder is full and PM me and I will resend total due.
Bad news, I ran out of binners and can not fill 6 requests. The folks involved have already been PM's about it.
Here is a copy of what I sent them:
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have run out of binners and can not fill your requests at this time. I am notifying you first before I post this on the forum.
I admit I did not count the 2,500 binners when they came in to make sure all 2,500 were in fact sent but I have done business with this company before and have never had a problem. I thought I had ordered enough to have a few left over just in case.
What am I doing about it.....
I am in the process of going back over the spread sheet to see if I made a mistake in my addition and possibly did not order enough binners. This will take a few days. I did not keep track of the number of colors sent out with each order as I went in a first come first serve basis on colors and as we did not get any purples and fewer than requested blues I had to make many substitutions on most of the orders.
If I found my addition is correct and once I calculate the number of binner the order was shorted I will be contacting the company to see about getting the missing binners shipped. If they do not cooperate, I placed the order on a credit card so I will dispute the charge.
If worse comes to worse, there are enough requests for a second group buy in which case your names will be at the top of the list.
There are a few people to whom I have sent requests for payments and have not gotten a response back and if they do not pay then I will use their binners to try and fill your orders as the far as the numbers allow.
Please remember that I am the one who fronted the money upfront and if there was a shortage I am the one who is on the hook.
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

My order was all good, except 4 of the carabiners had bad wire gates and don't work. No biggie though, I still have 26 more. You sure took on a tall order here, thank you again.
If there is another group buy I would like to get in on it!
Got mine today. All work and look good. Thanks Gunner!

Also got mine today. All in good working order.
Problem is - wifey immediately claimed half of them - can they do that?
Too bad about the shortage of niners - extra effort from you and you have already had a monumental task.
Thank you very much and well done.
