So I was unfortunate enough to have my Hammeck Netty stolen after only owning for two days. My luck turned however when the Meck's offered to let me be the first one to try their new offering the Envy! This is their top of the line, removable bugnet/ outer cover hammock. And I have to say I love it!

I'm a bigger guy (6'4" 280) so I went with the 11' DL options with a bishop bag mod. I'm also a huge Memphis Grizzlies fan, hence the non-standard colors. The colors weren't offered by Hammeck or their normal custom color provider ripstopbytheroll, so we had to order from QuestOutfitters. It added a bit of wait time, but the Mecks kept me up to date on all happenings the entire time. (During my original Netty order, David answered an e-mail on Easter Saturday within thirty minutes!)

The hammock was super comfortable all weekend. I fell asleep faster than I do in my bed at home! He included toggles, but I used wire-gate biners in their place. Honestly, I will probably upgrade to the Dutchbuckles.

I also have to note that I love the placement of the closures on the Envy. The zipper closures are placed so that I only had to manipulate one zipper to get enter/exit. The foot end would stay zipped up and I could close the head end without having to sit up. Hooray Innovation!

Alright, what you all have been waiting for the photos! I don't have a photo of the outer cover, it was 80 degree lows in Tennessee that weekend.

Hey Che, thanks for the great review! We're really happy that you like it! Also, welcome to the forums!

EDIT: Also, for those wondering, the cover in the photos is called the "Peak Cover" (for now, possibly going to change). This is just a typical solid cover. We also offer a "Peek Cover" which offers a zippered/netted window at the head end of the hammock to PEEK out of. We do not yet have any pictures, but they should be going up on our site in the next week or so.

Nice looking hammock. I recently purchased a hammock from Hammeck and had it shipped to a priest friend for helping us out with Mass. The quality of the hammocks and the service offered by David and family is top-notch. Will buy more in the future as the need arises.

Happy hanging.

I just ordered an Envy myself. Looking forward to it. This will be my 4th hammock, these things are like Lay's potato chips, can't just have one.

I forgot to describe what I ordered, I got the 10' Envy in 70d charcoal gray outer layer, 20d hunter green inner layer and a crimson cover with the peek window.

Fabric came in today. My mom will be getting a start on it tomorrow or Wednesday.

As an aside, we already renamed the cover... The version you ordered will be coined the "Peekaboo" cover, going forward, to further distinguish between it and the Peak cover.

Thanks again for your order!

So... I'd love it if we had our own sub, but does anybody know the process for this? I can't really find any information. I had messaged a couple mods a month or two back, but never received a response. If anybody has any advice, we're all ears! Thanks!

When traffic warrants a sub-forum, we will institute one. This is up to the discretion of the Hammock Forums staff.

Is the cover waterproof or do you still need a rainfly?

No, the cover is not waterproof, sorry. We did try that with our Peekaboo cover on my brother's Envy, but condensation is still a big problem. And, in any case, the rest of the hammock is not waterproof, so you'd still get very wet.

Thanks for asking!

Still looking for a believable excuse to get my hands on an envy.... perhaps one to go with a new hammock stand

Hammock stand? What ever are you talking about? ;)

The prototype comes home tomorrow, with a fresh powder coat. Pictures will follow, hopefully by the end of the weekend. :)

Do you mind sending us an email at [email protected] to work out the details? I think we can do something for you, but there are some guidelines around what we can discuss on HF. Thanks!
