One of my first jobs after graphics arts school was in the color department of Guilford Mills textile printing plant in Schenectady NY, so I know how much a simple change of light can affect the color of pretty much anything. I'm typically skeptical about what stock photos show, of fabric laying on tables, or hanging in a workshop.
Ripstopbytheroll goes further than most vendors by adding a Pantone color key, which is a really nice touch. But it's still just a swatch, and with this color, the swatch completely fails to show how amazing this color looks in the real world.
My wife picked the color, and she's in love with it. Kyle, from Ripstopbytheroll.com in a recent giveaway, sent me 8.5 yards of the same color in his new 1.1 SilNylon, to make a tarp out of. I'm still waiting for other materials before I start the tarp but I've included the Sil in some of the shots (shown as a bolt, sitting in the hammock) for a comparison of the two. I've only ever bulk ordered Sil (2nds) from Noah Lamport before.. but the difference is clear, the Sil from Kyle is far superior, it not only feels and looks stronger, but it's first quality material.. In 8.5 yards, I can't find a single flaw.
I'll do a complete review of both materials (and Kyle's Chocolate Brown Netting) as soon as I have all the materials.

And as a Side note to Kyle: My 8 Year old "Really really really hopes they have purple soon" to the point where her piggy bank may make the ultimate sacrifice if/when it happens :lol::scared:
