just a thought.....

I think it goes without saying (even though I'm saying it) that folks REALLY LOVE their blackbirds.....

Anyway, I would have been honored to display I nice brightly clad "warbonnet outdoors" TAG on my hammock.....but it seems to be anonymous....

That way, when approached by stray ground dwellers in the wilderness....I can point proudly and say " See, right there, I got it from the WARBONNET guy!"

Is everybody's that way???

yes, warbonnet guy does not put tags on his gear advertising his product, i was once told word of mouth is the best advertising, and very cost affective, imo, he has produced some of the finest gear out there, having a bb and his yeti, i love them both, the mac tarp guy by no means is a slouch either, top notch stuff there too. if you get the chance get one.

I went on a trip this spring with a group and one of the guys had a BB... he was so excited about it. The footbox, the shelf, all the details, it didn't have to have a tag - I was sold!

Now I'm the one talking it up each weekend... Maybe we should start a pyramid scheme and make commission on all the ones we sell. :)

I think I sell more HHs than BBs, just because folks can find HHs more easily, even though I stress that my fabulous camping hammock is a Warbonnet Blackbird. Those who manage to get to this website discover Blackbirds, but otherwise, it's pretty much Hennessy when people are looking for a camping hammock. I don't think having a tag on my hammock would change that much. Also, the fact that the HH is all in one and folks don't have to search or spend more for a tarp, is another reason people buy them. I wouldn't trade my BB for two HHs! (But I'd trade two HHs for one BB, it anyone is interested)

I hope he gets some tags made up soon. I don't like gaudiness on my gear, but I do like to have subtle tags identifying them. If you have ever looked at old vintage collectible gear, one of the interesting things to collectors are the tags.

so true the thing about the hennessys bieng more popular because they have they are easier to find... unfortunatly I ordered one, then I came to this site, so when it arrives, it will promptly (after a short try out session) be sent back to vancouver so that I may buy a blackbird :D (I already emailed brandon!!!)

That is true. If that happens then Cannibal will have to buy all of his versions of Warbonnet gear all over again just so he can have the tags! :D

No way dude! I'll be taking a road trip about an hour north with a bucket full of Warbonnet stuff. I'll entertain his crazy dogs while he stitches on the tags.

I want prototype tags for the synthetic Yeti and old, old school SuperFly. You know like X-Yeti and X-Fly. Chics will dig it.

She liked me before I was a gearhead. I think she might have been rethinking that assessment when I became a gearhead, but I just went ahead and converted her to a gearhead too. Now it's all good. :D

ok if I convert what would I do with the HH supershelter? Do you think it could be used with the BB. I can't go down the other road of underquilts due to $$$$ Has anyone tried this? I like the insulation I get from the supershelter but maybe not liking the slit in the hammock. It tends to cause my legs to fall asleep.

You know, all my friends wonder when my next new hammock will be done. Aside from the pleated bridge, I haven't made any new ones lately. I did take a ENO type and put a footbox in it just to see if I could, but the fact is, once I slept in my BB I quit making hammocks, at least for now. I love them too. Mule
