I just clicked on a link in a posting and got all sorts of errors. At the risk of seeming arrogant or overstepping my bounds I wish to elaborate on something...

http://www.hammockforums.net/gallery/files/1/4/6/6/insert_url.jpg (http://www.hammockforums.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=6554&c=3)

When using the "insert link (image)" feature the blue http:// will be erased and replaced if you simply paste the link into the box. Leaving that blue highlighted text in there will result in a dead link. If you just paste it in the link will work.

I hope I got this right.

That depends on what you are trying to link, and whether the 'copied' text that you try to post already contains the http:// You are absolutely correct that the link can only contain that text in one place.

Also, note that there are two kinds of insert icons above the text window. One is for images (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif), and one is for web-links (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/images/editor/createlink.gif).

Ok... feel free to remove the whole thing if it is more confusing. Not a problem for me. I don't want to add to any difficulties.

No, not at all. I'm glad you brought it up, and I'm happy to answer any member questions about how to use images or links.

This thread is an appropriate place to remind new members that we have a few 'how to post' guides.

Basic Posting (http://www.hammockforums.net/index.php?page=posting1)

Advanced Features (http://www.hammockforums.net/index.php?page=posting2)

Additional Options (http://www.hammockforums.net/index.php?page=posting3)

As always, if there are any questions don't hesitate to ask any of the moderator staff (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showgroups.php). We'll be glad to help.

quick question (I hope): Is there an easier way to post a thumbnail to a thread than to post a link to the album image (from your album page: right click on the thumb and hit copy link location), then replace the link text with an image of the thumbnail (from your album page: right click on the thumb and hit copy image location)?

Just curious,
